Bosch Dishwasher Not Drying

Of course, the most important factor when it comes to a functioning Bosch dishwasher is that it is able to clean thoroughly. However, secondarily is its ability to dry dishes once the washing has completed. What, then, do you do if your Bosch dishwasher is not drying as it should?

If your Bosch dishwasher isn’t drying, verify that neither the bottom or top racks are overcrowded, select either the “Extra Dry” or “Sanitize” setting, avoid stacking plastic items on top of one another, and avoid looking for a heated dry option, as this is not available on Bosch dishwashers.

It may seem like a small issue to be irritated by, but if you’ve ever had to pull soaking wet dishes from your dishwasher, you may as well be put with the task to wash them on your own as well. It is impossible to store wet dishes, which means that Bosch dishwasher owners must wait even longer for the dishes to air dry or they must dry them by hand, putting in an unnecessary step when a dishwasher is present. If your dishwasher won’t dry, continue reading to find a solution.

Bosch Dishwasher Not Drying

If you own a Bosch dishwasher, not only should you be able to pull clean dishes from your dishwasher, but you should also be able to pull completely dry dishes from the appliance as well. With Bosch dishwashers, there is a drying stage that works to drain and condensate any left-over water that is still present after the rinse stage, which should give you dry dishes once finished. However, if your dishwasher is not drying, what is the most likely cause?

If your Bosch dishwasher isn’t drying, one of the most common problems is overloading either the top or bottom racks. If dishes are placed on top of each other and are crowded on either rack, there is not enough space for water to condensate, which causes the dishes to stay wet.

Bosch Dishwasher Not Fully Drying

You may notice that the dishes are not totally soaked once the cycle reads it has completed on your Bosch dishwasher, but there may still be water present on a few or all items, simply in a lesser amount. This may not be problematic for some, but for others, hand drying will still have to happen with this result and the likelihood of water spots is almost inevitable. If your Bosch dishwasher is not fully drying, take a look below to see what might be the reason for this issue.

If your Bosch dishwasher isn’t fully drying, it could be that you are using the wrong setting to get dishes completely dry. Try selecting a setting such as “Extra Dry” or “Sanitize” to increase the heat within your dishwasher to allow for quicker evaporation of water on your dishes.

Bosch Dishwasher Not Drying Plastic

When it comes to problematic items with drying, plastic tends to be at the very top of most individuals’ lists. For some reason, plastic is always the one item, if any, that is going to have some type of remaining water still left on its surface, which gives Bosch dishwasher owners the extra task of having to dry these items when drying should have been completed by their appliance. If your dishwasher isn’t drying plastic, continue reading below to see what gives.

If your Bosch dishwasher isn’t drying plastic, be sure that you are not loading plastic items on top of one another, and once loaded properly, select the “Extra Dry” function. Plastic does not retain heat as well as other items, so more time spent drying may be needed for certain heavy loads.

Bosch Dishwasher No Heated Dry

With many dishwasher models, there are heating elements within them which use the heat to evaporate any remaining water within the appliance during the drying stage. This not only causes dishes to come out steaming hot, but it can also be a point of high power use. However, this method dries dishes thoroughly and oftentimes, leaves loads so dry that no additional effort is needed, causing some owners to wonder where the heated dry is located on their appliance.

A Bosh dishwasher does not have the option for a heated dry, as this appliance brand does not have a heating element within it. Bosch dishwashers use a condensation drying sequence that works to dry dishes through a hot rinse at the end that condensates water with the stainless interior.

Bosch Dishwasher Jet-Dry Not Working

If you have been dealing with drying issues for a while and have decided to use a drying aid during your dishwashing cycle, you may have instinctively reached for the well-known drying agent, Jet Dry. This product is designed to reduce the surface tension in the water, which causes the water to spread out and thin at a faster rate, which means quicker drying for your dishes. If you are using Jet Dry and it is not working, what might be the problem?

If you’re using Jet Dry within your Bosch dishwasher and it isn’t working, be sure to check if the dispenser is clogged. With multiple uses, the dispenser can get easily clogged with residual product, which can cause it to stop dispensing as it should, which will prevent Jet-Dry from working.

Bosch Dishwasher Doesn’t Heat Up

Although Bosch dishwashers don’t have a heating element within them, they still use hot water for many cycles to ensure that all residue can be easily removed and that your dishes can be properly sanitized. If you notice that your dishes are coming out cooler than normal or that they are not being cleaned as well as they used to, you may be thinking that your dishwasher is no longer heating up. If this is the case, what can be done to get the water temperature back up?

If your Bosch dishwasher is not heating up, run hot water from your sink before starting a load, check to make sure that your water heater is turned up to a high temperature, and be sure you are running a cycle that promotes a high water temperature such as “Eco” or “Sanitize.”

If your Bosch Dishwasher isn’t drying, be sure that the dispenser you are using any drying aids within is not clogged, and if it is, clear it of any residual product. Try also running hot water from your sink and turning up the temperature of your water heating to promote a hotter wash.
