How to Reset Verizon Wi-Fi Router

A Verizon Wi-Fi router reboot or reset is not the same as a factory reset. It’s a power cycle and network reconnect. You can do the reboot if you have issues with your internet and want to refresh the router’s connection. It’s usually the first thing you’ll do during a series of troubleshooting attempts.

To reboot or reset your Verizon Wi-Fi router, you’ll need to go to its power source and unplug it. Wait a full 60 seconds, and then plug it back in. Be patient as the initialization process occurs. It usually takes up to three minutes to go through its entire cycle.

How to Reset Verizon Wi-Fi Admin Password

There are at least two ways you can change your Verizon Wi-Fi admin password if you want to change it. It’s a good idea to get to the practice of changing all of your passwords at least quarterly or every 90 days. It’s not necessary for your Wi-Fi account, but it will get you into the smart practice of doing it.

To change your Wi-Fi admin password, you can log into your Verizon account and start the process. You’ll need to hover over the “Services” menu and select the “Internet” option. All you’ll need to do from there is select a network to manage and then change your password.

An alternative way to change your password is to use the My Fios app. The process is just about the same. You’ll need to navigate to “Internet” and then “My Networks” to select the network you’d like to edit. Once you do that, you can go ahead and change your password and then proceed with the newly created password you just assigned to yourself.

How to Reset Verizon Wi-Fi Name and Password

You might need to reset your Verizon Wi-Fi name and password if you’ve forgotten it, and you can’t seem to remember it. You can also change it to give it a fresh new start. You can use one of three methods to change these items if you have a Verizon Fios router.

You can change your Wi-Fi name and password using the My Verizon application for some routers. You will need to log into your Verizon account and then navigate to Services and then “Internet” and then “My Network.” You’ll then need to click on the network you wish to manage.

You can then set the name and password to something more desirable and save the information.

If you have a new and advanced router, you can also use the My Fios app. Use the app to go to “Internet” and then “My Networks.” You will then need to choose a network and then go to “Manage” to change your Wi-Fi name and password.

You can change your Wi-Fi name and password directly from the router if you do not have an advanced model. You’ll need to open your web browser page and enter the address 192.168.1.1 to sign in using your Verizon username and password.

You can use the router name “admin” and the default password that’s located on your router’s label to access the system so that you can change your Wi-Fi credentials. If you’ve already changed your credentials and are having issues, you may need to reset the router to factory settings.

At some point, you may desire to change or rest your Verizon Wi-Fi SSID. Changing your SSID is a great security measure because it allows you to assign a unique name that separates your device from other people’s. You can also reset your SSID to the generic name it had when you first set up your unit.

To change the SSID on your Verizon Wi-Fi, you’ll need to open a fresh web browser and type in http://192.168.1.1. You can then use your username and password to get it. Once you log into the system, you’ll need to navigate to “Basic Security Settings” and change your SSID to whatever you like.

If you want to reset your SSID to what it was initially, you might have to reset the router to factory settings. You do that by pressing the reset button on the hardware and allowing it to restore itself to factory settings.

You can restart your router remotely if you have access to the internet on another device, such as a mobile phone or tablet. You can use a simple process if you want the router to restart.

To reset your Verizon Wi-Fi remotely, you’ll need to log into your Verizon account using any browser. Go to the “Account” section and then click on the phone number to the 5G router. You will then have access to the restarting option. The device will take a few minutes to reboot itself.

How to Reset Verizon Router to Factory Settings

Setting your Verizon router to factory settings is the last resort you should do if you can’t resolve your issue any other way. It will clear all the settings you had on it and take you back to the beginning to set everything up all over again. Ensure that this is what you want to do before you initiate the process.

To reset your Verizon router to factory settings, you’ll first need to find a paperclip, safety pin, or something else that you can use to press the “Reset” button on your router. You can find the button on the router in between the coaxial connection and the Wan port.

You’ll need to stick the end of the safety pin into the hole near the word “Reset” and push it in. Release it immediately and wait. That should initiate a process where the router clears the information and then reboots itself.
