Panasonic Soundbar Not Working (How To Fix/Reset)

Having a Panasonic soundbar adds to the enjoyment of watching television or even listening to music. If it’s not working, it can be a frustrating experience, so what can you do to get it working again?

Resetting a Panasonic soundbar is the best way to get it working again. This is done by unplugging both the soundbar and TV for 10 seconds before plugging them back in again. This is often enough to reestablish the connection between them and fix small issues.

Although a Panasonic soundbar is not a complex computer or another electronic device that has a large operating system, it is an electronic device, nonetheless. It can experience problems as a result, including having small issues that continue to build up over time.

Cycling the power as described above can often get things back to their normal state again. It’s the first line of defense when problems arise.

Panasonic Soundbar Not Working (How To Fix/Reset)

As you can imagine, there are a variety of reasons why a Panasonic soundbar may not be working and a simple restart is not always going to fix things. Sometimes, you need to reset the memory back to the original as they were set as the factory. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Turn the System on – If the soundbar still turns on but is not operating properly, you can turn the system on at this point.

Step 2: Press and Hold – The power button located on the main soundbar should be pressed and held for at least four seconds. It doesn’t hurt to hold the power button for longer, just make sure that it is a minimum of four seconds.

Step 3: Release – After at least four seconds have passed, release the power button. Look on the display located on the soundbar and you should see the word ‘RESET’ shown. This is an indication that you are on the right path.

Step 4: Cycle the Power – The final step in the process is to turn off the unit and turn it back on again. The easiest way to do this is by pushing the power button but you can also unplug the soundbar and plug it back in if that is more convenient.

After restarting the Panasonic soundbar in this way, it will be back to factory default settings. Any small issues you are experiencing should have been fixed at this point.

There is also something else that should be considered any time a soundbar (or any other electronic item) stops working. If the issue comes up suddenly, you can start looking at that point.

Now that the Panasonic soundbar is not working properly, think back to anything that may have affected it within the past week or so. This could be connecting a new cable or perhaps rearranging things so that it was in a different arrangement.

If a Panasonic soundbar is not working properly, it is not likely to be a complex issue. In most cases, the fix is going to be relatively simple. The hard part is, figuring out what went wrong in the first place.

One other thing to consider is the possibility that you are not getting power to the Panasonic soundbar. It isn’t always the soundbar itself that is causing the problem but if it is not working, it could be a power or cable issue.

As far as the cable is concerned, you can try using a different cable or perhaps plugging the cable into a different port. If you want to check things even further, try taking the soundbar and plugging it into another TV or device to check if it works.

If it seems as if nothing is happening with the Panasonic soundbar and there are no lights or responses from pushing the buttons, it may be a problem with the power. There are several points between the breaker box and the Panasonic soundbar that can be checked.

Breaker Box – If a breaker trips, it can cause the soundbar to stop working. In most cases, however, this will also cause other devices to stop working if they are on the same circuit. That being said, it is still worth checking.

Go to the breaker box and look for a breaker that is slightly out of line with the other breakers. There may be a red stripe on the side of the breaker, indicating that it has tripped.

Turn the breaker off completely. It may feel a little soft but if you push through it, it will click to the off position. You can then turn the breaker on and it should start working.

Breakers sometimes trip as they are temporarily overloaded. If you continue to have a tripped breaker, you should try disconnecting numerous devices from the circuit. If it persists, contact an electrician.

Receptacle – Although receptacles are relatively stable devices, there are times when they can fail. You can check this for yourself by plugging something else into the receptacle, such as a lamp.

If there is any sign of burning or heat on the receptacle, it should be replaced. You should also ensure that the receptacle is not on a switch, and sometimes half of the receptacle is on a switch.

Power Cord – Visually inspect the power cord for any damage. If it is cut, or if the plug is burnt, it should be replaced. Never use a power cord that is showing any signs of damage as it could be a fire or electrocution hazard.

If the power is still flowing to the Panasonic soundbar but it is still not working or responding to any buttons, the issue is probably with the soundbar itself.

That being said, there are also specific problems that can occur with the Panasonic soundbar and if you can correct them individually, you might find that it starts working again. The following are some of those specific issues and how to fix them.

Panasonic Soundbar Not Turning On

One of the problems that can occur with a Panasonic soundbar is for it to not turn on. What can you do if this issue occurs with your soundbar?

The best way to fix a Panasonic soundbar that doesn’t turn on is to reset the soundbar to factory settings. After turning the soundbar on, push and hold the power button for at least five seconds. You can push the power button on the remote control if it is not easily accessible on the soundbar. After doing so, it will be reset automatically when you turn it off.

It would be nice if we could simply reset a soundbar and have it come on again. That is exactly what we want to take place, but we know that it doesn’t always work that way.

Sometimes, there are underlying issues that also need to be addressed and one of those is the possibility that the power is not getting to the soundbar.

Have you checked the receptacle to make sure it is working? Perhaps the receptacle is experiencing problems or you may have a breaker that is tripped. Try plugging the soundbar directly into the receptacle rather than using a power strip.

Is the power cord to the Panasonic soundbar damaged? If you do have any damage, such as cuts or burnt areas on the power cord, it should be replaced.

If all else fails, unplug the soundbar for at least 10 minutes and then plug it back in again. Sometimes a longer reset is all that is necessary to get it working.

Panasonic Soundbar Not Pairing To TV

If you are having difficulty pairing your Panasonic soundbar to the TV, what can you do?

Since Panasonic soundbars are Bluetooth enabled, you may need to start the process over again if it is not pairing properly. Make sure that the soundbar is close to the TV and that there are no large obstructions or electromagnetic devices that are operating in the same area. Restart the TV and the soundbar to begin the handshake.

Bluetooth is fantastic technology but it is not without its flaws. For the most part, you can only stretch a Bluetooth connection about 30 feet before it disconnects. If the soundbar is more than 30 feet from the TV, this can be a problem.

In addition, if there are any major obstructions or electromagnetic devices that could interfere with the signal, it can be problematic as well. The best thing you can do is to move the Panasonic soundbar as close as possible to the TV and start the pairing process again.

If that doesn’t work, try pressing and holding the power button for four seconds while the soundbar is turned on. The panel will indicate it is resetting. Turn the soundbar off and on and then try to establish the connection again.

If all fails, you may have to use a cable to connect the soundbar to the TV.

Panasonic Soundbar Not Connecting To Subwoofer

If you are having difficulty connecting a subwoofer to your Panasonic soundbar, what can you do to fix the problem?

You can connect to the subwoofer after having problems by unplugging both the soundbar and the subwoofer. After plugging the soundbar back in again, push the pairing button on the subwoofer and move through the instructions. It should connect automatically.

Bluetooth technology is fantastic but when you are having problems, it is equally as frustrating. Fortunately, these problems are few and far between but they sometimes require a little extra effort on our part.

One issue that can keep the subwoofer from connecting to the Panasonic soundbar is if they are too far apart from each other. They should be within 30 feet with that no obstructions but to connect them initially, try putting them side-by-side with each other.

If it continues to fail, try restarting them again while they are close to each other. Once the soundbar recognizes the subwoofer, it will start the connection process.

Panasonic Soundbar Not Responding To Remote

There is nothing quite as convenient as having a remote control to operate your Panasonic soundbar. What can you do if it is not responding?

The most common reason why a Panasonic soundbar is not responding to the remote control is that the batteries are dead. Replace the battery and see if it begins working. Otherwise, the battery may be installed incorrectly.

Although there are many cases when this problem can be fixed easily by installing a new battery, there are times when the problem is more complex. Sometimes it has to do with the line of sight.

If there is an object that is blocking the bottom of the soundbar in the front, it could be blocking the signal from the remote control to the soundbar. Try clearing any possible obstruction and then use the remote control close to the soundbar.

To put it simply, you don’t want anything in front of the soundbar because it is blocking the sound and interrupting exactly what you are trying to get out of the device. Clear that area and enjoy using the remote control and the great sound it provides.

Panasonic Soundbar No Sound

Is your Panasonic soundbar not giving off any sound at all? It may be easy to resolve this issue.

An easy way to fix a Panasonic soundbar that is not playing sound is to reset the soundbar and the TV. You can do this by unplugging both devices for 10 seconds and plugging them back in again. After the connection has been reestablished between the two of them, it will generally fix the problem.

Sometimes, the solution may even be that the sound is not turned up. You may have the sound turned up on the soundbar but if the sound is not turned up on the device connected to it, it could be a problem.

Try turning the volume up on the TV directly or perhaps on any device that you have connected to the soundbar. Be careful because this can produce a loud sound very quickly from the soundbar.

It is best if you have the sound up on the device to maximum and then make minor adjustments on the soundbar. Minor adjustments can then be made in either device to get the best sound possible.

Panasonic Soundbar Intermittent Sound Loss

Is your Panasonic soundbar experiencing intermittent loss of sound? This can be frustrating but it is not typically difficult to fix.

To fix an intermittent sound loss with your Panasonic soundbar, make sure that the soundbar is close to the device and that there are no obstructions between the two devices. Intermittent sound loss is often associated with Bluetooth dropping and reconnecting.

Sometimes, it is just better if you connect the soundbar directly to the TV by using a cable. It’s nice to be able to use Bluetooth but if the technology is not quite working for you, it’s better if you just use a cable for the time being.

Then again, if you are already using a cable and are still experiencing that intermittent sound loss, it may be that the cable needs replaced or tightened. Check the cable carefully to ensure that it is installed properly. Replace it if necessary.

Panasonic Soundbar Low Volume

Experiencing a low volume from a Panasonic soundbar can be a frustrating experience. It is also an experience that is easily overcome in many cases.

A common reason why a Panasonic soundbar experiences low volume is that the volume has been turned down on the device connected to the soundbar. Try turning the volume up on the device directly and then adjust the volume on the soundbar to be lower or quieter.

In many cases, the device that is connected to the Panasonic soundbar will experience a lower volume at some time or another. The volume may turn down automatically when the device is restarted or you may accidentally push the wrong button on the wrong remote control.

It’s often good to restart this on occasion by turning the volume up to maximum on the device connected to the Panasonic soundbar. You can then make small adjustments and control the sound on the soundbar directly.

Be cautious when you are making adjustments to the volume on the device itself because it can cause the volume to go up quickly on the soundbar.

Panasonic Soundbar Sound Delay

A sound delay is frustrating but it happens from time to time with the Panasonic soundbar. How can it be fixed?

The easiest way to correct a problem with a sound delay in a Panasonic soundbar is to turn off video and audio processing. This can be done by navigating through the settings on your TV to those features and selecting the off position. In many cases, this will simplify the connection and correct things.

You can also try reestablishing the Bluetooth connection. Unplug both the TV and the Panasonic soundbar for 10 seconds and plug them back in again. After restarting, the connection should be fresh and the sound delay should be gone.

Finally, you can try connecting the soundbar directly to the TV with a cable. It is not ideal but it will fix the problem.
