When it comes to keeping your devices up and running as they should, one of the most essential practices is to keep your device charged. Although this is universally known, a less talked about fact is that it can be rather disruptive when you have to take the time to do so. If your device is especially depleted of battery, charging it back up completely can take as long as an hour, which means you are stuck to keeping your device plugged into a wall port or have to carry it around while being attached to a portable charger with an irritating wire connected. Some Samsung fast chargers get your device charged to 50% within 15 minutes, giving you time and charge. If your charger isn’t working as it should though, read further for a solution.

If your Samsung fast charger isn’t working, one of the most common causes of the issue is a charging port that is obstructed by debris. If your charging port has not been cleaned recently, gently run a toothpick within it and clear any build-up that is present within the port.

Once you have all debris cleared from the port of your device, gently blow on the area to clear it of any loose debris that has been leftover that the toothpick was not able to catch. When you can verify that the area is completely clean, plug your Samsung fast charger back into the port and check to see if it is working as it should. If you are able to see that fast charging has started, you have found the root of the problem and can continue charging without interruption.

Samsung Fast Charger Not Charging Fast

Fast charging does not simply happen by purchasing a Samsung fast charger and simply plugging it into your device. Although you may be under the impression that fast chargers work the exact same way as regular chargers, that is not the case, which is why many owners find themselves in a position where fast charging is not working for their device. If you have a Samsung fast charger and it is not charging fast, continue reading below to find the likely cause.

If your Samsung fast charger isn’t charging fast, it could be that you don’t have the fast charging feature enabled on your smart device. To enable fast charging, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Device Care’ > ‘Battery’ > ‘Charging’ > then either select ‘Fast Charging’ or ‘Fast Wireless Charging.’

Fast charging must be enabled so that your device can register the new charging system that it has been hooked up to. Once you have fast charging enabled, you should be able to plug in the charger and start the fast charging process. If fast charging is still not charging fast once you have the feature enabled, turn your phone off and back on so that a quick reset is made, which should cause your device to register the change and start charging quickly again.

Samsung Not Recognizing Fast Charger

When using a fast charger, you are hooking up a separate device that must be recognized in order to function with your smartphone. For most devices, after you have enabled the smart charging feature, the charger should be easily recognized and fast charging should ensue. However, if you have enabled smart charging on your device but it is still not recognizing the fast charger, you have a problem that needs to be identified and resolved.

If your Samsung device is not recognizing the fast charger, it could be that your device does not support the charger. If you have an older Samsung phone, it may not be equipped with the ability to fast charge and you will need to confirm this by checking supported device models.

When it comes to charging your Samsung device with a fast charger, you want to be able to go from 0% to 50% within at least a half an hour, but when you suddenly realize that the charger isn’t being recognized, not even the slowest charge will commence. For most newer Samsung phones, fast charge is a feature that comes automatically installed, but to verify whether or not your device supports this feature, you can search online to find a comprehensive list.

Samsung Fast Charger Not Working With Case

For most smartphone owners, they have invested a considerable amount of money in their devices so they can have the convenience of socializing, communicating, and working all from the convenience of their palm. With so much important material within this small device, many are inclined to protect it with a phone case that will save the phone from any drop, spill, or other accident. However, if your Samsung fast charger isn’t working with the case, what can you do?

If your Samsung fast charger isn’t working with the case on your device, it could be that the case itself is blocking the charger from inserting completely into the charging port. If you have a bulkier case, this can oftentimes get in the way of chargers, causing fast chargers to not connect.

When it comes to protecting devices, there are some cases that are very slim and discrete and others that are bulkier for those who are more prone to accidents or are in situations that are higher-risk for small devices. If you are someone with a bulkier case, try taking off the case and insert the fast charger. If you see that your device charges when the case is off, you may need to find another case that can better accommodate the Samsung fast charger.

Samsung Fast Charger Not Charging, Blinking

Although you may be having problems with your Samsung fast charger operating as it should, one of the great features of this charger is that it is able to indicate any issues that it is experiencing through different displays of light. If you have a Samsung fast charger and it is blinking red, yellow, green, or blue, take a look below to see what those blinking codes mean for your device and what you can do to restore function to your fast charger.

If your Samsung fast charger isn’t charging and is blinking red, this means that the charger is not supported by the device. If the charger is blinking yellow, this indicates that the charger is in “Abort Mode.” If the charger is blinking green, the charger needs to be repositioned.

A green blinking light is also an indication that something is blocking the charger from the port, such as an item that is causing the wire to bend at an odd angle or a phone case that is too bulky for the charger to make a strong enough connection. If you see a blue blinking light, this means that something is interfering with the phone and chargers connection and the item should be removed if within close proximity to the charging station.

Samsung Fast Charger Not Detected

You know by now that your device has to be able to recognize a Samsung fast charger before fast charging will ensue, just as the device has to recognize any regular charger to commence charging. There are some devices that are not compatible with the fast charging feature, which means that a Samsung fast charger simply will not work for that particular model. However, if you know your device supports fast charging, what do you do when it won’t detect the charger?

If your Samsung fast charger is not detected and you know that your device supports the fast charging feature, try clearing the caches of your device to see if this helps to free up any space that is causing the system of your device to run slowly and thus, not detect the Samsung fast charger.

The process for clearing the caches of your device will vary depending on what type of phone you have, but as an example, here is how you would clear the caches of an Android phone. For new Android models, you have the clear the cache of each application individually and to do this you will go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Additional Settings’ > ‘Storage’ > ‘Apps’ > select the app you would like to start with to clear the cache > then select ‘Clear Cache.’

The beauty of many Samsung fast chargers is that they are capable of charging your device multiple ways, such as charging them either by using an outlet or by using a USB cord with another device that will support the charger. If your Samsung fast charger works when plugged into a USB but doesn’t work when plugged into an outlet, the first thing you need to check is that the outlet is functioning. If a breaker has flipped or no power is present at a particular outlet, change the location and see if another works.

Being able to fast charge your device with a USB makes charging in places like airports, trains, or anywhere that is limited on wall outlets much easier due to the ability to hook up to another device you currently have on you as well. However, if you transfer from using your fast charger with a USB to an outlet and it isn’t working, switching outlets can be the trick. If this doesn’t work, try resetting your device and switching outlets as well.

Samsung Fast Charger Not Working After First Use

If you have finally pulled the plug and have switched over to the fast charging world, after only one use, you will see why this feature is so accommodating and so hard to live without once you have completed the process. If you have a new Samsung fast charger, you should be able to use the charger over and over without having to worry about function. However, if you use a fast charger once and then it no longer works, what might be the cause of the problem?

If your Samsung fast charger isn’t working after the first use, be sure that it is properly inserted into your device, that you are using a working outlet, that no damage can be seen on the cord, and that you have the fast charging feature enabled on your device.

Once you have checked and confirmed that none of the above issues are present, you can also try cleaning out the charging port on your device to be sure that debris is not obstructing the fast charger. If you do this and you are still experiencing issues, try resetting your device or completing a factory reset to see if either of these resets will help to restore the detection and function of your Samsung fast charger.
