Samsung Phone Microphone Not Working

Samsung phones are usually extremely durable and reliable, but they have been known to have problems with their primary internal microphones. Sometimes, this is because of an external device that is plugged into the phone. Other times, it is due to a problem with out-of-date apps that need to be updated or deleted.

If your Samsung phone microphone is not working,  first go to Settings. Then go to Apps and Notifications and then to Permission Manager. Look for Microphone Permissions. You should see all Apps that have permission to access your microphone.

Uninstall the app in question and check to see if the microphone is now working.

You can also try to restart your Samsung phone. This will clear out any apps that are blocking the use of the microphone. Press on Power, wait for several seconds and then recheck your phone app.

In addition, check for  any external phone case that protects your phone that could be blocking the phone’s microphone and remove it.

Also, evaluate if your phone is connected to any Bluetooth devices that might have their own mics. If this is the case, go ahead and disconnect your Samsung phone from all these devices and then check your phone’s microphone again.

Also, try to clean your phone’s microphone. Clean out all the mic’s ports and openings to make sure there is no debris blocking any important opening.  You can use either compressed air or a small pin or paperclip to take debris out of your phone’s main microphone.

In addition, be sure to complete any software updates that are pending.

Samsung Phone Microphone Volume Too High

Few things are more annoying than to have the volume set too high on your Samsung phone and to have this blasting out your ears. Fortunately, you can do some quick and easy troubleshooting checks to determine the cause of this unfortunate problem so you can rapidly fix this exasperating issue.

If your Samsung phone microphone is not working and the volume is too high, it could be due to a software issue. Start your Phone. Then go to Settings and to Accessibility. Then go to Sound and make sure your volume levels are adjusted correctly.

Check to see that your Samsung phone has all the latest software updates. Go to Settings and then to More and to Tabs and then to About Device and then to Software Update. Now Check for Software Updates.

Samsung Phone Microphone Button Missing

If your Samsung phone microphone is not working and the phone’s microphone button is missing, first go ahead and clear the app storage. This will delete all preference settings. Go to Settings and then to All Apps and then to Storage and Clear Cache and Clear Data.

You can also check all Microphone Permissions. Go to Settings and then to Apps. Scroll down to Permissions and then to Tap Microphone and then click on Allow.

You can also try enabling Voice Typing by Default and make sure you have not disabled it by mistake.

If your Samsung phone microphone is not working and is causing an inability to use the msg feature talking, first try to reboot your Samsung phone. See if the headphone icon is appearing anywhere on your phone’s screen. Check the Sound Settings and Clean out the microphone.

If your Samsung phone microphone is not working and the phone microphone is not picking up your voice, go to Settings and to Software Update. Then, press on Download and Install. Also, be sure to clean your phone’s microphone of any debris.

Then Restart your phone in Safe Mode. Go to Quick Settings and then tap on Power. Touch on Power Off and then restart the phone.

Samsung Phone Microphone Missing from Keyboard

If you suddenly find you are missing your Samsung phone microphone from your keyboard, it is indeed shocking. Fortunately, taking quick troubleshooting steps can rapidly assess and diagnose the cause of this issue.

If your Samsung phone microphone is not working and the microphone is missing from your keyboard, go to Settings. Then, go to Language and Input and check the box next to Google Voice Typing to enable it.

Now open the Messaging App and tap on the left side of the Keyboard Space Bar and you should then see the Microphone again.
