As a general rule, it has run out of charge, it has been picked up and put back down, it was put in spot clean mode and finished, it is in manual mode, or it needs to be reset. It also won’t charge if the charging ports need to be cleaned, or the dock is not level.

Samsung Robot Vacuum Not Working (How To Fix/Reset)

A Samsung robot vacuum can keep stopping, or stop all of sudden and not restart. There are a few reasons why this happens, and it’s a matter of trying each of the troubleshooting steps below to identify and fix your Samsung robot vacuum when it’s not working.

Overall, it’s in manual mode and needs to be set to auto clean, or it was in spot clean mode and has finished. In other cases, the battery is empty and it couldn’t charge for a range of reasons explained below. Typically resetting it, and identifying what caused the issue will get it working again.

Otherwise, if you try each of the different troubleshooting steps below and it’s still not working properly you should contact Samsung support. Some Samsung robot vacuums have a remote control and/or can be given commands with your voice. Start by picking it up and turning it over. Then press the emergency switch so that it’s in the off position.

Wait about 10 seconds then turn it into the on position. Place it back on the ground and press the ‘start’ button on it, it has the ‘play/pause’ icon like a music player. Or, press the start button on your remote, or say ‘start’ to put it into auto clean mode.

If you pick up your Samsung robot vacuum it will not start again. You need to manually select what you want it to do using the buttons on the front.

Or, by pressing the buttons on the remote. Also after you set it to do a spot clean, or were using it in manual clean mode, it needs to be set back to auto-clean mode for it to begin auto-cleaning your home again.

Samsung Robot Vacuum Not Charging

Charging robot vacuum

A Samsung robotic vacuum is programmed so that when the battery gets low it will go to the docking station, charge, and then finish where it stopped. However, there can be a range of issues where it won’t dock itself, or it will stop dead because the battery is flat. Here’s what causes this to happen and how to stop it from happening.

Overall, the charging pins on your Samsung robot vacuum or the docking station need to be cleaned, the docking station is not level, there is something blocking it’s path to the docking station, or it needs to be reset.

There are a range of ways it will move to indicate what the issue is according to Samsung. It can drive up to the docking station plug in, and then exit the docking station within a few seconds. It will then do this over and over again. This indicates that the charging pins on your Samsung robot vacuum or on the docking station aren’t clean.

Or, the docking station is not perfectly level. Inspect the docking station to make sure it’s perfectly flat. And there isn’t something small under the base which gives it a slight tilt.

Then inspect the charging pins on the docking station and your Samsung robot and clean them where required. If it’s still doing the same thing, restart it. How to do so is explained at the very end of this article. After that, if it’s still doing it, contact Samsung support.

No power to the docking station from the wall outlet

If it drives up to the docking station, plugs itself in, then quickly exits the docking station again and drives away, it means that the docking station is not plugged into the wall outlet. Or, the wall outlet is not supplying power. Double check it’s plugged into the wall.

And test the wall outlet using something else to make sure it’s getting power. If the wall outlet isn’t supplying power this is the issue.

The fuse at the switchboard for your home can have blown. Or, the wall outlet is faulty.

It runs out of battery in the middle of cleaning

When the battery is empty it will not be able to go to the docking station itself. This can occur because of one of the issues above. But, it can also be because its path to the docking station is blocked.

For example, if someone accidentally left something like a pair of shoes, or a childs toy close enough to the docking station that your Samsung robot vacuum can’t physically get there. When this happens the LCD display will say ‘LO’. If this happens you need to manually place it on the docking station to charge it.

Samsung Robot Vacuum No Suction

A Samsung robot vacuum has 3 suction settings: high, medium, and quiet mode. But, like all vacuums they can sometimes have a suction issue for a number of reasons and won’t provide enough suction, or don’t have any suction at all. Below, is how to fix a Samsung robot vacuum that has no suction.

As a general rule, start by inspecting the bin to see if it’s full, and inspect the filter. If the bin is full or the filter is full of dust it will have very poor suction or no suction at all. Refer to the owners manual for your specific Samsung robotic vacuum for how to empty and clean them.

After clearing the filter and emptying the onboard bin, if the suction is still bad or doesn’t work then restart your Samsung robot vacuum. There is an emergency switch on the underside of your Samsung vacuum. Turn this to the off position, and then turn it back into the on position.

The suction can also be adjusted from low to medium to high. On many Samsung robot vacuums these are called different modes such as turbo mode, normal mode, and quiet mode. Quiet mode and normal mode have significantly less suction than turbo mode.

These can have dedicated buttons on the remote or on your Samsung robot vacuum. There can be an icon of a fan with a lot of propellers for turbo mode, a few propellers for normal mode, and even less propellers for quiet mode. Turn it up to turbo and see if it’s not providing enough suction.

It’s possible that it could not recharge itself because of an issue with the charging dock. But, if you manually place it on the charging dock it will recharge and begin working again. If this happens you should refer to the section titled ‘Samsung robot vacuum not charging’ and the battery is empty.

It explains reasons why a Samsung robot vacuum won’t charge when it drives up and plugs into the docking station. To restart it flip it over and turn the emergency power switch into the on position, and then to the off position.
