Enable Voicemail

Call Forwarding

Are your callers not getting the option to leave you a voicemail? This will happen when the Call Forwarding feature is turned on.

When Call Forwarded is enabled, unanswered calls are redirected to another phone number, not to voicemail. Here is how you can check to see if this feature is turned on – and how to turn it off.

Step 1: Open the phone app.

Step 2: Tap on the ellipsis in the top corner. It will look like three dots lined up vertically.

If you are using Visual Voicemail, your carrier may no longer support that feature. You will need to check your voicemail the old-school way. Go to phone settings and type in your voicemail app name to listen to your voicemails.

A recent software update may also be the reason why the voicemail app is missing/disappeared your home screen. In this case, you simply download the app again.

Notifications are how we know we have a message waiting for us. But what does it mean when the voicemail notification keeps popping up?

If your Samsung voicemail notification won’t go away or keeps popping up, the voicemail indicator has become stuck, or your voicemail storage capacity has been reached. Uninstall the voicemail app, delete old messages, and restarting your phone will refresh the app.

Majority of voicemail issues are capacity related. Our phones can hold a lot of data but eventually that space runs out. Clearing out unnecessary voicemails will help keep the feature working properly.

You can also refresh the app by going to your phone’s notification settings and toggling off and on the voicemail notification settings. If the notification setting has become stuck, this will help to ‘unstick’ it
