Vizio Smartcast Not Working

Vizio is a top brand of Smart TVs that require internet connections to operate. SmartCast is the operating platform that powers all Vizio TVs. Vizio Smart Cast TVs come with many built-in apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney, and also many hundreds of channels that are free. If Vizio SmartCast is not working properly, you can quickly troubleshoot to try to determine what has gone wrong so that you and your family can resume watching your favorite TV and streaming programs.

Check to make sure that your Vizio TV is fully connected to the network you are using and that you are getting a download speed. Go to the Network Menu and perform a Test Connection check. See if the test shows that the network is connected and/or if the connection speed is showing at 0.

Another problem that can prevent your Vizio SmartCast from working involves the WPA-PSK. All Vizio Smart TVs function better if the WPA-PSK is in an enabled function. The WPA-PSK refers to the encryption settings that act to enhance the Wi-Fi connection.

Go into the router’s Security Settings to make sure that the WPA-PSK encryption is enabled. In order to access the router’s settings, just type the gateway default IP address for the router into your web browser’s URL search bar.
