If HBO Max is not working on your Vizio TV, it is likely caused by a problem coming from another streaming device such as Apple TV, Roku, or the Amazon Fire Stick due to Vizio TVs not directly supporting the HBO Max application. Update the app as well as the streaming devices to resolve any issues.

HBO Max Not Found On Vizio TV

No matter how long you search or how many times you input the name of the app, Vizio TVs will not show the application, but why?
If HBO Max is not found on your Vizio TV, this is because the application does not yet support Vizio TVs. Although you cannot download the app directly to your TV, you can install it through a second party streaming device such as Roku, an Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple TV.
It is certainly much more inconvenient for owners of Vizio TVs that they have to download this app from a separate streaming device, but luckily, through this technology, you can still have access to all of the content that comes with HBO Max. Either download the application from a streaming device that you already have or find one that can support the application as well as fit other needs that you and your family may anticipate with such a device.
Vizio TV HBO Max Not Working
Since you cannot download HBO max directly to your list of apps on your Vizio TV, there are a few different routes that you can take for streaming, one of those being Apple TV. If you have Apple TV and HBO Max is not working, try updating the software. For this to be completed, navigate to the App Store and find HBO Max. Once you have found it, choose to update the app then update the Apple TV software by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Software Updates.’
If HBO Max is not working and you are using Roku, update the Roku app by pressing the ‘Home’ button on your remote control > ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘System Update’ > ‘Check Now.’ You can also update the software on Roku by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘System Update’ > ‘Check Now.’
If HBO Max is not working on your Amazon Fire Stick, update that application by selecting the HBO Max application and pressing the ‘Menu’ button on your remote control. You will then select ‘More Info’ > ‘Update.’ If this does not resolve your issues, update your Fire Stick by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘My Fire’ > ‘TV’ > ‘About’ > ‘Check for Updates,’ which will then show if any updates are available and will automatically take you through the process.

HBO Max Not Casting/Streaming On Vizio TV
No matter what type of device you are using to cast or stream HBO Max from to your Vizio TV, the first thing you want to make sure of is that you have both devices connected to the same network. If they are not connected to the same network, casting and streaming will not work, therefore, check to see if they match. To see what network your Vizio TV is running on, press ‘Menu’ > ‘Network’ > ‘Ok’ > ‘Network Connection’ > ‘Wireless’ to see available networks.
If HBO Max is not casting or streaming on your Vizio TV and you have confirmed that both your TV and the device you are trying to cast/stream from are connected to the same network, be sure you are casting properly. For iPhones, play something from the HBO Maz app and click on the AirPlay icon and select your Vizio TV from the given list.
If using an Android device, open the HBO Max application from your device and begin playing a TV show or movie. Once it is playing, click on the Cast icon and select the TV that you are trying to cast from that is given from the available TVs list. If you are using Chromecast to stream, you will complete the exact same process as with an Android device. The most important thing to remember is that all devices need to be connected to the same network.
Vizio TV HBO Max Won’t Download
Whether you are downloading HBO Max to Apple TV, Roku, or to an Amazon Fire Stick, there is a process which takes a few minutes to get the application from the internet and onto your streaming device. This process should not take more than a few minutes to complete, but even more, should be relatively easy to select, begin, and finish efficiently if you have a strong network connection. However, if HBO Max won’t download, is your network the issue?
If HBO Max won’t download to your Vizio TV, it could be that your network is encountering problems preventing it from completing. To stream HD videos, a minimum download speed of 5 Mbps is needed, otherwise, you will continue to encounter download errors.

For an Apple TV, you will need to test your connection speed by getting on your computer and testing it from a variety of testing websites on the internet.
