If your Xbox remote has no audio, there could be issues with either the remote itself facing an issue, or the problem could be with your headset.

If your Xbox remote audio is not working, you should first try to see if you disconnect and reconnect the headset to the controller so that you regain volume. A common problem that you can face with volume, is simply that there is a poor connection. If this is the case, once you have plugged the headset back in and ensured that it is fully connected, you should have audio again.

Ensure You’re Not On Mute

If you continue to face issues with your volume, enter your ‘Settings’ menu by pressing the Xbox button. Select ‘All Settings’ and navigate to where it says ‘Account’. You should check under the subfolder ‘Privacy and Online Safety’. Once in there, select ‘Communicated with Voice and Text’.

If it shows that you are muted, you need to turn off this feature to fix your volume issue. Your headset itself could also be muted. Check to see if there is a button on the side of your headset.

Troubleshoot Your Remote and Headset

You should test to see if the issue is related to either your remote or your headset. To do this, try using your headset on a different remote. If you have a second headset, try using it on the first remote. You may need to replace one or the other.
