You can trust that your Kenmore refrigerator is going to provide you with years of service. When problems occur, such as if your refrigerator is making a loud noise, what can you do to fix it?

A Kenmore refrigerator can make loud noises due to several reasons. A malfunctioning variable-speed motor can cause a buzzing sound. A faulty adaptive defrost control board can result in a popping or clicking sound. Restricted refrigerant flow can cause a hissing or gurgling noise. These issues can disrupt the normal operation of the refrigerator and cause loud noises.

Restart the internal computer on your Kenmore fridge by unplugging it at the wall outlet, and plugging it back in again. Next, ensure the cooling function on your Kenmore fridge is set to on. It gets disabled automatically after a power surge, or an issue with the circuit breaker in your home.

In general, something in the drip tray is causing the odor, there are invisible particles causing smells on the surfaces of the compartments, trays, racks or walls of your fridge, or something spilled or leaked and the smell is stored in the ice, producing an odor during the defrost cycle.

 If you need to reset your Kenmore Refrigerator, you need to reset your Kenmore Refrigerator Water Filter Light, Press and Hold the Lock and Light Pads. Then you will see the Change Filter Indicator Light appearing and it will begin blinking for a period of about three seconds.

If your Kenmore ice maker is not turning out ice, the infrared sensor could be faulty. The sensor will inaccurately detect ice when there is no ice. This will prevent the water supply valve from turning on to supply water to the ice maker and going through the process to make and dispense ice. A Kenmore service technician is needed for this repair.

A Kenmore freezer cannot cool down if the compressor is broken because there is no movement of refrigerant throughout the unit. However, the refrigerant also may not draw and release heat if the coils are covered or the fans are broken. There could also be issues with the door seal or control board.

A Kenmore fridge will not work if heat from the fridge cannot be removed or if cold air cannot circulate freely through the compartments. Ice buildup, overfilling or dirty condenser coils can all be reversed, whereas a broken evaporator fan, condenser fan or compressor will need to be replaced.
