BenQ Monitors are designed to be used for video and photo editing, gaming, and business solutions due to the high-quality displays. BenQ Monitors are known for their high detail. But as with all technology, your BenQ Monitors may run into issues.

If your BenQ Monitor has screen issues, many of them you can troubleshoot yourself. 

Your monitor is essential for using your computer. When you’re having issues with your display it can make finishing your project. Here are some of the common problems that your might run into with your BenQ Monitor’s display and how to fix them.

BenQ Monitor Too Bright/White Cause and How to Fix

BenQ Monitors are designed with HDRi technology. This technology is designed to auto-adjust your BenQ Monitor’s brightness and whites depending on the light around you. This was done to prevent you from having to constantly adjust your brightness settings. 

If your BenQ screen is too bright or white, there are two things that you can try. You can check to see that your monitor is properly connected. Disconnect all the cables and make sure there is no dust or debris. Reconnect and restart your monitor. 

Otherwise, the issue may lie in your frame rate settings. If your frame rate is too high, your screen will often be brighter, even when you don’t want it to be.

BenQ Monitor Too Dark How to Troubleshoot

Due to BenQ Monitor’s LCD technology, the monitors are designed to auto-adjust to the light in your environment. In theory, this technology means that you should never have to adjust your screen to make it lighter or darker. However, sometimes you may find that your screen brightness is not adjusted properly. 

If your BenQ Monitor has a feature called refresh rate. The speed at which your BenQ Monitor adjusts to light is directly connected to this feature, while it is usually set at the highest possible refresh rate.

If the rate is lower than the highest rate, your screen may be darker than you’d like it to be. To check these settings, go to your Control Panel and find the section marked ‘Display Properties’. Select ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Advanced Settings’.

Once in this section, you will find a tab that is marked ‘Adaptor’. Here you can see the refresh rate settings. If your refresh rate is low, setting it to the highest setting should solve the problem of your screen being too dark.

BenQ Monitor Flickering Black/On and Off Cause and How to Fix

You may notice that your BenQ Monitor is flickering with a black screen. Your screen may also turn on and off unexpectedly. This is an issue that is not only frustrating but also has a few steps to address the problem before you enter your ‘Control Panel’.

If your BenQ Monitor is flickering black or turning off and on unexpectedly, you want to first power off your monitor and then detach the cords in the back of the screen. reconnect the cables, making sure they are properly connected. It’s also a good idea to make sure that there is no dust or debris in the ports.

Also, check the ports and buttons around your monitor, including the bottom and the sides, to make sure there is no debris in those areas either. Also, check your ‘Sleep Settings’ on your computer. If your monitor is frequently in sleep mode without being turned off, it can, over time, damage your monitor’s display.

BenQ Monitor Flashing Colors Cause and How to Troubleshoot

You may notice that your BenQ Monitor is flashing colors when you turn on your monitor. This is caused by a process called burn-in mode and is a process that they use to make sure that the monitors are working properly before they leave the factory.

If your BenQ Monitor is flashing, there are six buttons on the underside of your monitor. Press 6 first, then press either 4 or 5 until you see ‘Recall’. Press 6 again to select this. Press 4 or 5 again until you see ‘Recall’. Press 6 to select. Press 4 or 5 until you see ‘Yes’. Press 6 to select and then press 3 to exit this screen.

Restart your monitor and you should notice that the color flashing has stopped.

BenQ Monitor Brightness Keeps Auto Adjusting Cause and How To Fix

BenQ Monitors LCD (liquid crystal display) is designed to adjust to give you the best resolution. BenQ’s LCD makes it so that you shouldn’t need to adjust the screen brightness. However, you may notice that your BenQ Monitor adjusts when you don’t want it to.

If your BenQ Monitor’s brightness keeps auto adjusting it is due to the refresh rate. Your BenQ is often set at the highest possible refresh rate. Go to your Control Panel and find the section marked ‘Display Properties’. Select ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Advanced Settings’. You’ll see a tab labeled ‘Adapter’, here you will be able to change the refresh rate.

If your refresh rate is as high as set at its highest level, your screen brightness will keep adjusting even when you don’t want it to. You can lower the refresh rate to prevent the constant adjustment of your screen brightness. Select a lower specification level and click ‘Change’, ‘Okay’, and then select ‘Yes’. 

After you close your Control Panel, the auto adjustment on your brightness should stop adjusting at such a frequent rate.

BenQ Monitor Brightness Can’t Adjust Brightness Cause and How To Troubleshoot

While your BenQ Monitor is designed with LCD technology to automatically adjust, you can run into some issues. The first thing that you should check is your refresh rate. If it is set to the highest rate, you may notice that your screen is brighter than you would like.

If you cannot adjust your BenQ Monitor’s brightness and you’ve attempted to adjust both the refresh rate and reset your monitor, your BenQ monitor will need to be manually troubleshooted.

To reset your BenQ Monitor, first test to make sure that you’re not facing a power issue. Test both that your outlet is working properly. If it isn’t, you may need to flip your circuit breaker. Next, you want to check that all the cables are properly attached, and have no debris or damage in the ports or on the cords.

Next, change your input source. Your BenQ Monitor, like your TV, has different input settings that you can filter through. To be paired with your computer, your BenQ Monitor needs to be on the right display input.

If changing the input does nothing to solve the issue. You can always restore your monitor to factory settings. This, for all intents and purposes, will make your BenQ Monitor revert back to how it was when you first purchased it.

To run a factory reset, first press the ‘Menu’ button. Then find the section labeled ‘Picture’ and scroll until you find ‘Color’. Once in ‘Color’, you will see an option to ‘Reset Color’. When prompted if you would like to continue, select ‘Yes’. Do the same steps, but this time by entering the ‘Display’ section. Hit ‘Yes’ to reset. Your BenQ Monitor will now be returned to factory settings and your issue should be resolved.

BenQ Monitor Blurry Cause and How To Fix

When your BenQ Monitor is blurry, it’s not only frustrating, but it can make completing your projects impossible. You may notice that your monitor has a varying degree of blurriness, but no matter the level, any sort of blurriness is a sign that there is an issue. If it is just your BenQ Monitor’s background screen, it’s a sign that your background choice is too low of a resolution to be supported by your screen resolution.if it is more than just your background, there are more steps you can take.

If your BenQ Monitor is blurry, first clean your monitor with an electronic safe cloth. If that doesn’t solve the issue, enter your settings menu and find ‘Resolution’. Select ‘Native Resolution’, which should restore your resolution to the intended level, which will remove blurriness.

If this still doesn’t solve your problem, it could be an issue that can be solved by disconnecting and reconnecting your monitor. Turn off your monitor and remove all the cables. Sometimes the display cables may have debris or may not be properly screwed in. 

Once removing your cable attachments, using compressed air, clean out your pores and connectors. Make sure they are securely reattached before powering back on your monitor. While it may seem like it wouldn’t make that much of a difference, one loose cable can affect your entire display.

When you run into issues, however, they can usually be solved by adjusting your refresh rate. This can help when your screen is either too bright or too dark and is not changing as quickly as you would like it to.
