How to Reset Gateway Laptop

To reset a Gateway laptop CMOS, use the jumper method. Shut down the laptop. Open the laptop up so there is access to the motherboard. Refer to the manual to find the CMOS jumper (3 pins near the battery). Move it from position 1-2 to 2-3, wait 5 minutes, and move it back. On some computers, CMOS must be reset by entering the BIOS menu upon startup.

How to Reset Toshiba Laptop

There are two main ways to restart your Toshiba Laptop. The first being to press and hold the power button for at least ten seconds, you will then see that your screen will go black. Press the power button again to restart your laptop. If you need to run a factory reset press and hold your zero key while pressing the power button. Release the power button, but continue holding the zero key until you see a display on the screen.
