Your Acer tablet is not working properly again. You have tried turning it off and on again but it’s not helping. It is time to reset the tablet. How do you reset an Acer tablet?
You can reset an Acer tablet by pressing and holding the ‘Power’ button. Continue holding the button down until the Acer logo appears on the screen. The tablet is now in Recovery Mode and can be reset without fear of losing any data.
We use our tablets so much that they can become bogged down with all of the use. We don’t often power off our tablets so that they can refresh and install pending updates. Resetting the tablet will clear out any glitches from overuse and will install new updates.
Over time, with continued use, the tablet can become overwhelmed and will stop working correctly. Depending on the issue you are having with your Acer tablet, resetting the tablet will resolve these issues.
It is also beneficial to know which type of reset your tablet needs. There are two types of reset that can be performed.
Soft Reset
A soft reset will not delete any data. The tablet is powered off and forced into Service Mode where the tablet’s operating system will run a self-diagnostic test. It will remove old software data and will install any updates that may be pending or that were incorrectly installed.
Hard Reset
A hard reset is often done as a last resort, or if you are disposing of the tablet and want to remove all your personal data from the tablet. The tablet will be wiped clean and will be returned to its original factory default settings.
The tablet needs to have at least 75% battery power to do a hard reset. The process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on how many files are on the tablet.
Because a hard reset involves scanning every file and program within the tablet, keep the tablet connected to the battery charger throughout the reset process. The tablet will not be usable during the reset process.
Any attempt to use the tablet can result in it stopping the reset process and you have to start all over again.

Once the hard reset/factory reset is complete, all of your personal data and any saved preferences will be deleted. The tablet will be returned to its original default settings.

If the issue persists, do a Google search on how to unbrick your tablet. Yes, unbrick. This term is accurate because the tablet is about as useful as a brick when you cannot reset it.
