SVS make a range of very high quality subwoofers that work great. Subwoofers can not work out of the box, or can stop working all of a sudden. Today, I will explain what to do when your SVS subwoofer is not working.

Generally, first try unplugging the subwoofer for 1 minute, and then plug it back in again to reset it. If it’s getting no power at all check the wall outlet is working. If there is no audio, unplug and plug the RCA cables back in, and try a different pair of RCA cables.

After doing these preliminary steps there are a range of other steps to try such as doing a factory reset through the SVS app. But, it’s important to note that the SVS app is not compatible with all SVS subwoofers. Below, I will cover step by step instructions for what to do when your SVS subwoofer is not working.

SVS Subwoofer Not Working (Troubleshoot)

A home theater system or dedicated stereo has a range of different settings, and getting all the wires in the right place is a bit tricky. After it’s all set up you can still get no sound, your SVS subwoofer won’t turn on at all. Here’s what to do to troubleshoot an SVS subwoofer that isn’t working.

As a general rule, disconnect the power cable from the wall and the subwoofer for 1 minute, and then plug it back in. After that, unplug the RCA cables, and plug them in again. Then, try different RCA cables if you have some around your home.

Generally, you should test the wall outlet using another device to check that it’s getting power. If the wall outlet isn’t getting power, inspect the fuse box in your home to see if a fuse has been tripped. After that do the following steps.

First things first, check if the wall outlet is supplying power.

1. Check the wall outlet is providing power

Verify that the wall outlet your SVS subwoofer is plugged into is providing power. Do that by plugging something else into the wall outlet and see if it works. If it’s not providing any power check the fuses on the circuit board for your house to get the wall outlet working again.

2. Unplug and replug the power cable from the wall outlet and the subwoofer

SVS Subwoofer Not Turning Off

Another issue with an SVS subwoofer is it won’t go into standby mode when it hasn’t been in use for sometime. Or, it won’t turn off when you press the power button. Here’s what to do when your SVS subwoofer is not turning off.

As a general rule, the power switch is faulty. It needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. Get in touch with SVS support, they will advise you how to do the repair yourself, or explain how to get it repaired.

If it won’t go into standby mode it can be an issue with the software on your SVS subwoofer. Doing a soft reset can solve this issue.

Unplug your SVS subwoofer from the wall outlet, and then plug it back in. After that if it still won’t turn off, try factory resetting your subwoofer using the SVS app on your phone.

There are a few important things to make sure you do and don’t do with your SVS subwoofer to make sure it lasts as long as possible. And makes it less likely it has any issues, here’s what they are.

Overall, don’t keep your SVS subwoofer near a heat source, don’t use any accessories or attachments that aren’t recommended by SVS. If you are not going to use your SVS subwoofer for a long period of time, around a week or so, then unplug it, also unplug it during lightning storms.

The other main things to do are to never get it wet, and only clean it with a dry cloth. As well as, installing it in a place where it’s difficult for someone to accidentally walk on the cables. Which can damage the ports or the cables.
