SVS make a range of very high quality subwoofers that work great. Subwoofers can not work out of the box, or can stop working all of a sudden. Today, I will explain what to do when your SVS subwoofer is not working.

Generally, first try unplugging the subwoofer for 1 minute, and then plug it back in again to reset it. If it’s getting no power at all check the wall outlet is working. If there is no audio, unplug and plug the RCA cables back in, and try a different pair of RCA cables.

After doing these preliminary steps there are a range of other steps to try such as doing a factory reset through the SVS app. But, it’s important to note that the SVS app is not compatible with all SVS subwoofers. First things first, check if the wall outlet is supplying power.

1. Check the wall outlet is providing power

Another issue with an SVS subwoofer is it won’t go into standby mode when it hasn’t been in use for sometime. Or, it won’t turn off when you press the power button. Here’s what to do when your SVS subwoofer is not turning off.

As a general rule, the power switch is faulty. It needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. Get in touch with SVS support, they will advise you how to do the repair yourself, or explain how to get it repaired.

If it won’t go into standby mode it can be an issue with the software on your SVS subwoofer. Doing a soft reset can solve this issue.

Unplug your SVS subwoofer from the wall outlet, and then plug it back in. After that if it still won’t turn off, try factory resetting your subwoofer using the SVS app on your phone.

As a general rule, try restarting the device that you’re using the SVS app on. Then try installing the SVS app on a different device to see if the problem occurs on two different devices. This will let you know if the issue is with the sub or your device.
