How to Reset Gateway Laptop

For whatever reason, here’s what to do.

To reset a Gateway laptop CMOS, use the jumper method. Shut down the laptop. Open the laptop up so there is access to the motherboard. Refer to the manual to find the CMOS jumper (3 pins near the battery). Move it from position 1-2 to 2-3, wait 5 minutes, and move it back. Disconnect the AC cord from the power source. Take off the computer’s cover, and locate the onboard battery. Remove it. Wait 5 minutes, and reconnect it. Replace the cover, and reconnect the devices.
