If you’re looking for a home speaker system that provides high quality at an affordable price, look no further than Sonos. Sonos is a brand that is well-known in the sound system industry, and their products can level up your home entertainment experience. With that said, however, Sonos is not immune to problems that can cause your speakers to not function as they should. As with other brand names, speakers can stop working as they should, and turn your once enjoyable moving watching experience into a frustrating evening trying to figure out what is wrong with the device.

When your Sonos Move speakers are not working, the first thing to check is to ensure that the power that is connected to the device is on and working. If so, then unplug all of the speaker cords and wait for 5 minutes before plugging them back in. This will reset the device.

Resetting the speakers typically takes care of any glitches that may prevent the device from working.

Sonos Move Speakers Not Connecting

In order for the Sonos Move speakers to work as intended, you will need to first connect them to either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. If you cannot connect the device to either one of those, you won’t be able to play your audio through the speakers.

A Sonos Move speaker not connecting typically just needs to be repaired. Open the device’s settings on your phone and enable Bluetooth. Select Sonos Move from the list of devices and then click on “Pair Device.” The Sonos Move will flash a blue LED light when in pairing mode.

Sonos Move Speakers Not Showing Up

Sonos Move utilizes Bluetooth to stream audio from another device to the speaker. This device can also use Wi-Fi in the same way.

To force the Sonos Move speakers to show up in the Sonos app, remove the power cable from the speaker and wait 10 seconds before plugging it back in. The status light on the device will blink a white light as it is powering up. The Sonos Move should know appear on the Sonos app.

Once the Sonos Move is listed under the Sonos app, simply select the device and follow the instructions on the screen.

Sonos Move Speakers Not Powering/Turning On

What is the reason for even having speakers when they won’t turn on? This is a question often asked by Sonos Move owners who have experienced problems getting their device to power on.

When the Sonos Move speakers aren’t turning on or powering up, try resetting the device by pressing down and holding the power button for 5 to 10 seconds. When the status light turns off, that is your signal to release the button. Wait 10 minutes before pressing the power button.

Sonos Move Speakers Not Responding

You try to use your Sonos Move speakers but the device just won’t respond. This is an annoying issue that is typically caused by a technical glitch that causes the speakers to become “stuck.”

A Sonos Move speaker that isn’t responding is typically “stuck” and will require rebooting the router. Unplug the router from its power supply and wait 10 to 15 seconds. Plug the router back in and wait for it to boot back up. This can take several minutes but typically fixes the glitch.

Sonos Move Speakers Not Switching To Bluetooth

Sonos Move speakers feature Bluetooth capability, which means you don’t have to use Wi-Fi to stream your audio from your device to your speaker. When the speaker doesn’t switch to Bluetooth, however, you can be left at the mercy of the Wi-Fi signal.

The most common cause of a Sonos Move speaker not switching to Bluetooth is outdated firmware. Thankfully, this problem can be fixed by connecting the speaker to Wi-Fi and updating its firmware. To do this, open the Settings tab and click System > System Updated > Check for Updated.

The first thing to check is to ensure the Wi-Fi is up and running, which can be done by checking the other devices that are connected to the network. If they are also not connected, then you know there is an issue with the Wi-Fi and not the speaker.

If the other devices are connected, try reconnecting the device to Wi-Fi by opening the Sonos app and selecting Settings>System>Network>Wireless Set Up. Follow the steps to reconnect the wireless network to the speaker. This should fix the problem.

Sonos Move Speakers No Lights

Sonos Move speakers have LED lights on the device itself. These lights help to alert you of various statuses, such as whether or not the speaker is turned on. Trying to read the speakers can be difficult when the lights won’t work.

When the Sonos Move speakers have no lights, the device is probably not charged. To correct this, simply place the speaker on its charging pad or connect it to a power source using a compatible charging cable.

Keep in mind that it can take several hours for the device to charge long enough for the lights to turn on.
