Sometimes glitches and malfunctions can cause the control panel on your Maytag refrigerator to not work properly. Thankfully, resetting the power to the product can help fix the problem. This will, however, require unplugging the appliance from its power source.
Resetting a Maytag refrigerator is possible by pressing the ‘power save’ and ‘lighting’ buttons simultaneously. You can check the user manual other button combinations. Otherwise, you can perform a hard reset by disconnecting the appliance from the power and reestablishing power after five minutes. Doing so will reset the settings and the power to the unit.
If the door is open it will begin beeping after 5 minutes, and then every 2 minutes after that until the door is closed. Ensure, both the freezer, and fridge doors are properly closed. If both are and the beeping continues, the door switch or the control board are faulty.
A Maytag fridge that is producing too much ice, indicates the ice bin is out of position. Or, there is something in the ice bin. If there is no ice production it’s generally an issue with the parts of the fridge that supply the water, or the ice maker is turned off.
