How to Reset Sceptre TV

When you run into issues with your Smart TV, it can be very frustrating. The good news is that you don’t have to panic, read on to find a few different ways that you can reset your Sceptre TV.

To reset a Sceptre TV to its factory settings, turn on the TV and grab the remote. Press the ‘Menu’ button, navigate to ‘Settings’ or ‘Setup’, and select ‘Reset’ or ‘Factory Reset’. Confirm the action, and the TV will restore itself to its original settings.

To do a general reset on your Sceptre TV, using your remote, click the ‘Menu’ button. From there, it will bring up a list where you can find ‘Settings’. Scroll through the menu and find the section that is labeled ‘Device Preferences’, select that option and you will now see a few different choices. ‘Reset’ or ‘Reset to Factory Settings’. 

You want to select ‘Reset’. This will restart your Sceptre TV without causing you to lose your current settings. Your Sceptre TV’s screen will turn off for a few seconds, then turn back on. You will then be met with your Sceptre TV Home page. 

How to Reset Sceptre TV Without Remote

If, for some reason, you cannot find your remote, or if you are facing issues with your remote, you can still reset your Sceptre TV.

To reset a Sceptre TV without a remote, power on the TV and locate the physical buttons on the TV, usually found on the side or bottom. Press the ‘Menu’ or ‘Settings’ button, navigate using the volume or channel buttons to the ‘Reset’ or ‘Factory Reset’ option, and confirm using the ‘OK’ or ‘Enter’ button.

Some models of Sceptre TV have a reset button on the TV. You can usually find this button on either the back or side of your Sceptre TV. Using an object such as a pen, press and hold the reset button while your Sceptre TV is on. Don’t release the button until you see your screen go dark. Once the screen goes dark, you can release the button. After a few seconds, your screen will power back up and you will be met with a blue screen with the Sceptre TV logo.

Once this screen appears, it will then prompt you to reset your setting to your preferences. As this is a factory reset, this will revert your TV to the same condition as when you first bought it.

How to do a Factory Reset on a Sceptre TV

Sometimes simply resetting your Sceptre TV is not enough to fix your issues. If that happens, you want to do a factory reset. A factory reset will restore your Sceptre TV to its original factory settings. Basically, it’s like you have a brand new TV.

To do a factory reset on your Sceptre TV, Click the ‘Menu’ button on your Sceptre TV remote and access the ‘Settings’.Scroll down to where you see ‘Device Preferences’ and select it. You’ll then see a choice, depending on your Sceptre TV model, that will either say ‘Factory Data Reset’ or ‘Erase Everything’. Select this and when prompted, press ‘Okay’. 

Your Sceptre TV will go dark for a few seconds and then it will turn back on and you’ll be met with a blue screen with the Sceptre TV logo. You will then be prompted to enter your preferred settings again.

You can also perform a factory reset directly on your Sceptre TV if you have a reset button. Not all models do, but if yours does, you can usually find it on either the back or side panel where you see your USB and input and output connections. This button is small and is labeled ‘Reset’. 

Press and hold this button while looking at your screen. It usually takes around 30 seconds, but your screen will turn black. Once it does that, you can release the button. After a few moments, your Sceptre TV will restart and be returned to its original factory settings.

How to Reset Sceptre TV Remote

As a general rule, if you are facing any issues with your Sceptre TV remote, the first thing to check is your batteries. As we use our remotes often, it’s easy to forget when you last put fresh batteries in. If that doesn’t work, there are other things that you can try.

To reset your Sceptre TV remote, remove the batteries from your remote. Press and hold the power button for fifteen seconds. After fifteen seconds, you can release the power button. Next, press every single button a few times. It is easy to get debris in your Sceptre TV remote and that can cause issues with how your remote responds to your commands. 

Put your batteries back into your remote and turn on your Sceptre TV. This is a process that may take a few tries to fix using this method. Don’t get frustrated if your remote doesn’t work after trying this once. 

Your Sceptre TV remote could also face issues with connection or interference. While your Sceptre TV is on, unplug it from any power source. Leave it disconnected from power for 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, reconnect your Sceptre TV to power and use your remote to try and turn it on.

How to Reset Sceptre TV Parental Control

Resetting your Sceptre TV parental control is a simple process to complete. You will need to do this if you have performed a factory reset, as they will have been disconnected.

To reset your Sceptre TV parental controls on your remote, click the ‘Menu’ button. Once in the menu locate the section that is marked ‘Settings’. In settings, you can scroll down and will see an option for ‘Parental Controls. 

Once you select that option, you will be able to adjust your parental control preferences. You can also set up a password to prevent them from being altered in the future.

Your Sceptre TV is easy to reset. Using your remote click the ‘Menu’ button, from there it. will bring up a list where you can find ‘Settings’. Scroll through the menu and find the section that is labeled ‘Device Preferences’, select that option and you will now see a few different choices. ‘Reset’ or ‘Reset to Factory Settings’. Depending on how severe the issue you can decide between the two. Otherwise, you can try and unplug your Sceptre TV, hold the power button for 30 seconds, leave it unplugged for 60 seconds, and plug it back in.
