Netflix was one of the first major content platforms to hit the market and through the years, has maintained a top spot in many people’s homes for the unique content offered through a single subscription. However, if you find that Netflix is not working, what can you do to fix it?

Netflix is a content platform that gives you access to thousands of different titles all through the simple use of the Netflix app. However, this content service, in order to function properly, has to be connected to a network in order to play the title you have selected. This can either happen through wifi, a wired network, or some type of hotpot and if not working properly, can cause big issues for Netflix. Read below to see what to do when Netflix won’t play a movie or video.

If Netflix can’t play a movie or video, try restarting your network. To do this, unplug your modem or router and let it sit for 30 seconds before plugging them back in. Wait until you see no indicator lights blinking, then, turn your device back on and see if Netflix will play without an issue.

One of the greatest features of Netflix is that, when using the app on a device such as your smartphone or tablet, you can download videos while you are using a network so that you can watch those same videos when you are without a network. For moments like when you are flying or are in an area with insufficient connection, this can be a major advantage. However, if you have a downloaded video and the video won’t play, what could be the problem?

If Netflix is saying that it can’t play a downloaded video, it could be that you have exceeded your downloaded storage limit within Netflix. If this is the case, delete any download titles you don’t plan to use, then try once again to play the video you previously downloaded.

Netflix is known for the tremendous amount of content offered within its subscription service and this is all enjoyed through a quality picture on any device of your choosing. Even though the picture is where the content comes to life, the sound is how that picture relays its purpose. Therefore, if you are having no issues with Netflix playing a video, but notice that there is no sound, take a look below to find out what you can do to get the audio back.

If Netflix won’t play any audio from your device, try restarting it. For TVs, unplug the TV directly from the power source and allow it to sit for 1 minute. During this time, press the power button for 5 seconds on your TV, then release it. Plug the TV back in, turn it on, then check the volume.

When watching any type of series on Netflix that has multiple episodes, you have the option of being able to set the app to immediately play the next episode without you having to move from your seat or find the remote to confirm that you want to continue watching. This feature is called Autoplay, and it works great for those who want to binge without being interrupted. However, if you want to use this feature, or this feature is not working, what can you do?

If Netflix can’t add to play next, make sure that Autoplay is enabled. To do this, go to your account on a web browser and open ‘Profile & Parental Controls’ > ‘Playback Settings’ > ‘Change’ > ‘Autoplay Next Episode in a Series On All Devices’ > then press ‘Save’ to complete the process.

Airplay is a feature that is supported by Apple devices which allows users to cast the screens on their smart devices directly to their TV’s. Therefore, when particular apps are in use, they are able to take what is directly on the screen on their Mac, iPhone, or iPad, and cast it right to their TV. If you have an Apple device and are looking to use Airplay to cast Netflix, what could be the reason behind this feature not working with this particular app?

If Netflix has an error indicator when you are trying to use Airplay, it is because Airplay is no longer supported by Netflix. This feature was taken away in 2019 due to Airplay encountering problems with video quality when Airplay was in use, therefore, causing Netflix to stop the service.
