Shark Robot Vacuum Light Flashing

Shark robot vacuums are known for their advanced ability to vacuum an area without needing the assistance of an operator, but just as advanced as their overall function is this device’s ability to indicate what is wrong through various flashing lights.

If there are flashing lights on your Shark robot vacuum, it could be an indication that the battery is charging properly, that the device needs to be reset back to factory settings due to unknown maintenance issues, that the front wheel has been obstructed internally, or that the bumper has jammed.

No one wants to have to deal with problems when it comes to their household devices, but the reality of it is that no matter how advanced and high-functioning your device may be, there are times when those devices will encounter problems and will need to be maintenanced, with Shark robot vacuums being no exception. If you have a Shark robot vacuum and you notice lights flashing on the device, read on to see what they mean and how you can resolve any issues.

Shark Robot Vacuum Light Flashing

There are a number of different reasons that you may see flashing lights displayed on your Shark robot vacuum and not all of these indicator lights mean that something is wrong. It can be alarming to see a flashing light on any device, but before jumping the gun, pay close attention to the lights you see and then move forward with diagnosing the problem, finding the solution, and getting your Shark robot vacuum back into working action if a problem does exist.

A Shark vacuum light that is flashing could be an indication that the battery is charging properly, that the device needs to be reset back to factory settings due to unknown maintenance issues, that the front wheel has been obstructed internally, or that the bumper has been jammed.

Shark Robot Vacuum All Lights Flashing

If you only see a few lights flashing on your Shark robot vacuum, you may not be too concerned with the potential problem that is at hand. However, if you see that all the lights are flashing on your vacuum, this will quickly send just about any owner on a mission to find out what is plaguing their device as well as what they need to do to get this flashing to effectively stop. If all the lights are flashing on your Shark robot vacuum, read on to see what is the cause.

If all lights are flashing on your Shark robot vacuum, this is an indication of a maintenance issue that cannot be targeted by the device. You can work to troubleshoot the issue, but the quickest fix is to complete a factory reset for the device and reprogram it back to the area.

If you want to take troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the issue before completing a factory reset, there are a number of different complications that might explain all the blinking lights. A very low battery or battery that needs to be replaced could be the problem, issues with a jammed roller brush might be the cause, or there may be a wheel that is jammed due to an obstruction within.

Shark Robot Vacuum Max Light Flashing Blue

Shark robot vacuums work wonderfully for those needing a device to regularly clean their home or office so that the floors stay as tidy as possible while people go on living and working in the area without interruption, but what happens on those days when large messes are made or a big clean-up is in order? The Max setting on a Shark robot vacuum cleans with 3x the suction power for big jobs, but what if this light is flashing blue, what does it mean?

If your Shark robot vacuum max light is flashing blue, this is an indication that there is something preventing the front wheel from spinning or that the bumper is jammed. Once either of these has been fixed, the light should stop flashing and you can continue to run your device in Max mode.

If you aren’t sure how to complete any of the above actions, read on to see how they are done. If the bumper is jammed, simply pull the bumper from its jammed position back to its regular operating position. If the front wheel is not spinning due to an internal obstruction, remove the wheel from its position, and clean the cavity well. If either of these is the problem, once resolved, you should be able to turn your vacuum back on without any more flashing lights.

Shark Robot Vacuum Flashing Red Light

Red is not often a color that many people want to see when it comes to their technological devices, as this is a color that typically indicates something is wrong, or will be wrong very shortly. However, when it comes to Shark robot vacuums, a flashing red light doesn’t indicate that the worst outcome is imminent. If you have a Shark robot vacuum and notice a flashing red light, read on to see what this means and what you need to do to get it to stop.

A flashing red battery light on a Shark robot vacuum often indicates that the battery is not charging properly. This can be due to the charging contacts on the vacuum or the dock being dirty or obstructed. To fix this, turn off the vacuum and clean the charging contacts on both the vacuum and the dock with a dry cloth. Ensure they are free of dust and debris to allow for proper charging. Realigning the vacuum on the dock to ensure proper contact can also help.

Another reason could be a battery that’s nearing the end of its lifespan. Rechargeable batteries in robot vacuums degrade over time and may eventually hold less charge, causing the red light to flash. If your vacuum is older and the battery hasn’t been replaced in a while, consider purchasing a new battery. Replacing the battery can restore the vacuum’s ability to hold a charge and function properly.

Shark Robot Vacuum Flashing Green Light

In order to operate without a cord, the Shark robot vacuum must be able to charge successfully to have enough power to complete its designed tasks. The charging dock is where the vacuum goes when its battery is low or when its tasks have been completed for the day or session. If your vacuum returns to its charging dock and you notice that there is a green flashing light on the side of the charging station, what does this mean?

If your Shark robot vacuum has a flashing green light on the charging dock, this is an indication that there is not ample power at the location that it is plugged into. This means that you will need to plug the charging dock into a power outlet that is working at an operable level.

To know if you have found an outlet that will work for the charging dock, look to see if the light on the charging station is green without flashing. If you see that the light is solid, this means that the dock can stay there and power will be given to your vacuum without any interruption. If you see that there is no green light at all on the charging dock after it has been moved, this means power is completely removed and you will need to find another location to make a connection.

Shark Robot Vacuum Flashing Clean and Max

There are some indicator lights that display the issue by simply illuminating one light, as already seen throughout some of this article, but when a different message needs to be relayed on your Shark robot vacuum, you may notice that a few lights begin to flash in sequence together. If you have a Shark robot vacuum and the Clean and Max buttons are flashing in tandem, take a look below to see what this message means and what steps you need to take to correct it.

If your Shark robot vacuum is flashing Clean and Max, this simply means that the dust bin has been removed and needs to be replaced. Once the bin has been reinserted, the vacuum will register the change, stop the lights from flashing, and will go about its cleaning duties as normal.

Shark Robot Vacuum Blinking Red Battery Light

For those with newer models of Shark robots, you will notice that at the very top of the display screen on the device, there is a battery image which displays the state the battery is currently in. At times, all of the battery will be illuminated, parts of the battery will be illuminated, or various colors will show and blink depending on the battery’s status. If your Shark robot vacuum has a blinking red battery light, take a look below to see what this means.

If your Shark robot vacuum has a blinking red battery light, this means that the device is depleted of all power and does not have enough battery life to make it back to the charger. Simply pick up the vacuum, take it to its charging dock, give it ample time to charge.

When you manually palace a Shark robot vacuum at its charging dock, you have to make sure that a proper connection is made, otherwise, charging will never occur. To confirm that charging is happening, you will notice either a blue flashing light indicating the charge, or a green solid light, which all depends on the model you own as well as how old that model is.

Shark Robot Vacuum Dock and Spot Flashing

As previously noted, there are reasons that two or more lights may flash together on your Shark robot vacuum, and although the number of lights flashing together may strike you as rather alarming, when the Dock and Spot lights are flashing, there is a quick solution to the problem. If both of these lights are flashing together, read on to see what this means and how you can quickly resolve the issue the lights are indicating.

When the Dock and Spot lights are flashing on a Shark robot vacuum, this means that something is stuck in the main brush roll of the device. Simply unclip the cover, remove the brush roll from its port, and be sure that all hair and strings are cut from the roll.

You will also need to check under the roll port to see if any larger items are jammed within the area. These items may not be on the roll itself, but if they are lodged beneath the roll, this will cause the same lights to blink, to which they will not stop until the item is removed. Once everything has been removed, reinsert the brush roll, replace the cover to the roll, turn the device back on, and the lights should turn off automatically.
