Smart TVs elevate the home entertainment scene. Once upon a time, you needed several external devices connected to your TV to enjoy your favorite movie or music. Nowadays, your Smart TV wirelessly connects you to thousands of streaming apps and channels.

If your Smart TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to the correct network. Do a network speed test to see if the signal is fast enough to support the TV connecting to the Wi-Fi. Use a hardwired connection for a stable network connection. Restart the TV. Restart the router.

Samsung TV Won’t Connect To Wi-Fi (How To Fix)

Smart TV with video on demand choices

Samsung has a reputation for producing quality electronics. From the smartphone to the TV, Samsung products are reliable, producing clear sound and crisp pictures. But what do you do when your Samsung TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi?

If your Samsung TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi, you can fix it by resetting your router. Unplug the router from its power source for at least 60 seconds and then plug it back in. Wait for the indicator lights to flash that it has reset and then reconnect the TV to the network.

Resetting the router is the first place to start when troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues. If your Samsung TV continues to not connect to Wi-Fi, here are a few more suggestions to try.

Reset The TV

Resetting the TV will help to clear out any bugs and glitches that are preventing the TV and the router from communicating.

Step 1: Go to your Samsung TVs ‘Settings’.

Step 2: Go to ‘General’.

Step 3: Go to ‘Reset’.

Step 4: Enter your personal PIN or the Samsung default PIN 0000.

Check Network

If your home has more than one network connection, make sure the Samsung TV is connected to the correct network.

Step 1: Go to ‘Settings’.

Step 2: Go to ‘General’.

Step 3: Go to ‘Network’.

Step 4: Go to ‘Open Network Settings’.

It is also a good idea to check the network status to make sure the network itself is working. While in the ‘Network’ settings (step 3 listed above), select ‘Network Status’ and run a test.

If an error in the network is detected, a message will appear. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the process and remove the error.

You can also reset the network while in the ‘Network’ settings by selecting ‘Reset Network’. Resetting the network will refresh the connection and oftentimes helps to improve the network speed.

Vizio TV Won’t Connect To Wi-Fi (How To Fix)

Smart TV with streaming apps

Vizio TVs are a great option when you need your TV to serve dual purposes. Because of the crisp screen and low risk of permanent burn-in, Vizio TVs are a great option for anyone who needs the TV to double as a second monitor or gaming screen.

If your Vizio TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi, you can fix it by using a hardwired connection instead of a wireless internet connection. An Ethernet cable will provide a more stable internet connection that is less likely to be affected by outside interference.

Vizio TVs require a strong and stable internet connection, especially when streaming or gaming. In conjunction with using an Ethernet cable, do a network speed test. Most internet packages are high-speed but the speed may not be enough to support the TV.

Wireless Hotspot

Our mobile devices provide so many functions outside of making phone calls. One such function is providing a hotspot.

If you are trying to use your smartphone as a mobile hotspot for your Vizio TV, the signal strength may not be strong enough, or stable enough, to support the Vizio TV. The signal will also be dependent upon the cellular signal.

DHCP Settings

DHCP, or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, is what enables the TV and router to communicate and work together. If this setting is turned off, the Wi-Fi signal coming from the router will not reach the TV.

Step 1: Press the Menu button on the remote.

Step 2: Go to ‘Network’.

Step 3: Go to ‘Manual Setup’.

Step 4: Select’ DHCP’. If DHCP is turned off, turn it on. If it is turned on, switch it off and then back on to refresh it.

If your LG TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi, you can fix it by removing anything that could be interfering with the wireless signal. Remove other devices that rely on a wireless signal such as a cordless phone, baby monitor, or Bluetooth-connected devices.

When it comes to connecting your LG TV to Wi-Fi, the signal needs to be strong and stable. Turning off any unnecessary features within the TV will improve the signal strength. Two such features are the Quick Start and Simplink

Quick Start Feature

The Quick Start Feature setting puts your TV in standby mode when it is turned off, enabling the TV to respond much quicker when the TV is turned on. While it is a convenient setting, it is not essential. Here is how you can turn it off.

Step 1: Press the Setting (*) button on the remote.

Step 2: Go to ‘All Settings’.

Step 3: Go to ‘General’.

Step 4: Go to ‘Quick Start’.

Step 5: Select ‘Off’.

Simplink Feature

The Simplink feature allows you to use your remote control to control basic functions of connected HDMI devices, such as the Blu-Ray player or external speakers.

Step 1: Press the Settings (*) button on the remote

Step 2: Go to ‘All Settings’.

Step 3: Go to ‘General’.

Step 4: Go to ‘Simplink (HDMI-CEC)’.

Step 5: Select ‘Off’.
