Bosch Dishwasher Not Draining

A Bosch dishwasher is an appliance that gives owners the freedom to get their dishes clean without ever having to question whether or not their dishes are going to come out clean, dry, and ready to be used without any additional care. However, part of this cleaning process includes the ability of the dishwasher to drain dirty water out of the appliance so drying can ensue. If you have a Bosh dishwasher and it isn’t draining, read below to find the solution.

If your Bosch dishwasher is not draining, it could be that the air gap on your sink is clogged. To resolve this problem, remove the small piece that is either screwed off or easily popped off on the back of your sink and remove any debris from the area before trying to drain your dishwasher again.

Water is drained from your dishwasher and through the air gap, but sometimes, when water reaches the very top of the air gap, small bits of debris get stuck, which causes the water to begin to drain at a slower rate. If you see debris there, this is likely the issue. Once you have the area cleaned, be sure to load dishes that are free of any large pieces of food or any other items that could easily get stuck during the draining process to help prevent reoccurrence.

Bosch Dishwasher Drain Pump Keeps Running

When you hear your dishwasher draining after a cycle, you know that the right functions are taking place so that you can have clean and dry dishes once the cycle has completed. However, if the cycle has finished and you are still hearing the drain pump continually run, a bit of concern begins to creep in. If you have a Bosh dishwasher and the drain pump keeps running even when the cycle is over, take a look below to see what you need to do.

If your Bosch dishwasher keeps running, this is caused by your dishwasher receiving a signal that there is a leak. You will need to check to see if there are any apparent leaks within the appliance and if you see one, it will need to be fixed as soon as possible to avoid further issues.

If you don’t see any leaks within the dishwasher, then you may be wondering what could cause your appliance to be getting such a message. If there are any hoses or tubes that are clogged or full of debris, this can cause the float switch within the dishwasher to think that there is still water present, which will force the drain tube to keep on draining. If this is the case, any clogged hoses or tubes will need to be removed and cleared of any obstructing debris.

Bosch Dishwasher Not Draining Fully

When you complete a wash cycle with any dishwasher, the water that accrues during the wash and rinse stages must be drained. This is necessary not only to ensure that the dishes are able to dry properly, but also so that no dirty standing water remains in the dishwasher once the dishes have been cleaned. If you have a Bosch dishwasher and you notice that there is still some water remaining after the entire cycle has completed, what can be done?

If you have a Bosh dishwasher that is not draining fully, it could be that the filter is clogged. To see if this is the case, take out the bottom rack within the dishwasher, access the filter tube, twist it to remove the piece, and then clear it of any particle build-up that may be present.

Once you access the filter, if you notice there is no debris build-up in this specific area, there is likely blockage in another area. For those who have a garbage disposal, one of the most common problems is that this feature often gets clogged with different debris, which prevents the dishwasher from draining completely. Be sure to run your garbage disposal, send boiling water down the same drain, and even clean it with a specific unclogging solution.

Bosch Dishwasher Won’t Drain E24

One of the greatest advantages of modern technology is that many items are equipped to relay any issues they are experiencing through different display codes. Gone are the days of having to deduce what issues have arisen due to knowing exactly how to proceed with the simple flash of various buttons or direct display codes/messages that show owners what the problem is. What does it mean If you have a bosch dishwasher, it won’t drain, and you see an E24 code?

If you have a Bosch dishwasher, it won’t drain, and there is an E24 error code, this code indicates that the dishwasher is not draining properly. Once a cycle has completed, open your dishwasher and check to see if you see any amount of standing water at the bottom of the appliance.

If you notice that there is, in fact, water that has not drained, this error code indicates that there is likely a block somewhere within the dishwasher which is what prevents the appliance from draining fully. The most likely cause of this is a blocked filter, which was previously noted in the past section titled “Bosch Dishwasher Not Draining Fully.” If the filter is not blocked, the error code could be caused by a blocked drain hose or drain pump.

Knowing that your Bosch appliance can communicate exactly the problem it is experiencing can be a huge help to those who would prefer to troubleshoot repair methods without having to resort immediately to calling a professional in. This is possible for many individuals because there are multiple display codes that will appear on a Bosch dishwasher to tell specifically what the issue is, with one of them being the error code that reads “E25.”

If you have a Bosch dishwasher that is not draining and the error code reads E25, this means that the dishwasher is not draining properly and that there is blockage within the drain pump or there is an issue with the drain pump or cover. This could mean that the cover is either missing or loose.

Before going forward with removing any parts from your dishwasher, first, look and find the drain pump cover and check to see if it is loose. If you notice that this piece is very loose, simply screw it back on and the error code should go off with the next cycle, but if you go to check the drain pump and you notice that the cover is totally gone, this item will need to be replaced. If the cover is not the problem, remove the drain pump and clear it of any debris build-up.

Bosch Dishwasher Not Draining and Leaking

It is one thing if your dishwasher is not draining completely and you notice there is standing water at the bottom of your appliance once the dishwashing cycle has finished, but it is a whole other issue when a dishwasher is not draining, but is also leaking. Whether the leak is big or small, this can cause major issues for owners not only with their peace of mind, but also with the structural integrity of their floors. If your dishwasher is not draining and is leaking, read below.

If your Bosch dishwasher is not draining and is also leaking, the issue could lie in a faulty float switch. Check to make sure that the float switch is not stuck on any other piece of the dishwasher and inspect it for any kind of damage, as this can cause the appliance to overfill and thus, leak.

After you remove the bottom rack of the dishwasher, you should be able to easily find the float switch at the base of your Bosch dishwasher. If you notice that there is damage to the switch, this is likely the problem, as a damaged float switch will allow more water to fill up within the dishwasher than is needed, which can result in appliance leaking.

Bosch Dishwasher Not Draining But No Blockage

At this point, you know that the most common problem for Bosch dishwashers, when it comes to draining problems, is a block somewhere within the appliance. This can be easily resolved for most by simply removing and cleaning the filter at the bottom of the appliance or clearing out other spots that have the potential to block. However, if you clear these places of all debris and your dishwasher still isn’t draining, what might be causing the problem?

If your Bosch dishwasher isn’t draining, but there is no blockage, a failed drain pump may be the problem. The drain pump is a small part that is not incredibly expensive, but proper installation is essential when it comes to avoiding any further draining issues or potential leaks.

Bosch Dishwasher Inlet Valve Not Opening

The inlet valve on a Bosch dishwasher is the essential piece that works to allow water to fill the appliance so that washing can begin. For those doing a lot of dishwashing, this can be immediately noticed once the cycle has completed and the dishes come out exactly as they came in – dirty. When this happens, owners are left wondering what would cause such an issue and what they can do to ensure that their dishes are cleaned while using this appliance.

If your Bosch dishwasher inlet valve isn’t opening, it could be that the valve lacks continuity, which would be the cause of the piece not opening. Use a multimeter tool to check and see that continuity is present with the inlet valve. If there is not, check the float switch for the same continuity.

You want to check for continuity at the float switch to see where the connection of power has been lost therefore, you can also check for continuity at the timer control or even the door switch. If you notice that power has been lost in any of these areas, these items will either need to be repaired or replaced so that the inlet valve can open properly.

Bosch Dishwasher Door Won’t Open All The Way

You may not be experiencing problems with your dishwasher not draining properly, but you could be having an even more inconvenient issue: the dishwasher door won’t open all the way. Obviously, this is a necessary feature so that you are able to load and unload your dishwasher without any problems with either the door being at a slant or staying so closed that you can’t even access the interior. If your dishwasher door won’t open all the way, what can be done?

If your Bosch dishwasher door won’t open all the way, the issue could lie in the door hinges. Check the hinges by opening the door as far as you can and see if there is any visible damage. If you note damage, the door hinges will need to be replaced so the door can open properly again.

If you check the door hinges and you don’t see any obvious damage, it could be the springs within the door that are causing the problem. If the springs in your dishwasher door are wound too tightly, this can cause the door to stop opening at a certain point before it has completely extended. Therefore, the springs will either need to be relaxed or replaced so that you are able to open your dishwasher door as far as it has been designed to do.
