LG Phone Not Charging Problem

When you have an LG phone not charging problem, the problem may seem insurmountable. It is not. This is a technical problem with a technical solution. You may not always get the problem resolved in the timeframe that you wish, but you will solve this problem. There are a number of very common troubleshooting techniques for the LG phone not charging problem. They are common because they work.

An LG phone not charging could be due to a faulty or damaged charging cable. Inspect the cable for any visible damage, bends, or frays. Try using a different cable to see if the issue resolves. If the phone charges with a different cable, replace the original one to fix the problem.

Another common reason for charging issues is dirt or debris in the phone’s charging port. Accumulated dust or lint can obstruct the connection between the charger and the port. Gently clean the port with a small, non-metallic tool like a toothpick or compressed air. Be cautious not to damage the internal components while cleaning.

The problem could also stem from a faulty battery or issues with the phone’s software. If the battery is damaged or has reached the end of its lifespan, it may not hold a charge. In this case, the battery needs to be replaced. For software-related issues, try restarting the phone or performing a factory reset (after backing up your data) to resolve any software glitches that might be preventing the phone from charging.

LG Phone Won’t Charge Moisture Detected

In many cases, when the LG phone won’t charge, there is a moisture problem. This can happen even when the phone is water resistant. The phone is only water resistant to certain level.

When an LG phone won’t charge, moisture in the ports or phone may be the problem. The room your phone is in may have additional humidity or moisture, or it may have been exposed to moisture. You can use your LG phone from the SVC menu to detect moisture and then give your phone time to dry.

In most cases, this moisture problem is resolved on its own by allowing the phone to dry out. If you suspect you have a moisture problem, use the SVC menu and turn moisture detection ON. Try this method first if you are having a charging problem. If this is the problem, you won’t need to do any more troubleshooting until your phone dries. Let the phone dry for a full 24 hours just to be on the safe side.

You still need to maintain the phone to stay away from moisture, and any accident or slip-up by leaving it somewhere can cause a moisture problem.

When your LG phone charger is not working or feels loose, replacing it with a new cable or charger could help. It is possible here that your port is damaged or contains debris. Check the port quickly and remove any dirt and debris. If that doesn’t work, you can try and repair the port another way.

Turn the phone off and disconnect the cable. Look at the contact card inside the port, the one that the charging cable is connected to. Take a very small needle and clean the space between the card and the walls of the USB port. Be very careful with the needle and avoid scratching or damaging the card inside. Be slow when you take the needle out and remove the lint.

When all of the lint has been taken out, try the charger and connection again. You may find the phone begins to charge now.

Another LG phone not charging problem is when it will charge but it won’t turn on after the charge. You can try to charge the phone when it is in safe mode. This will enable you to use the phone once it is finished charging.

When the LG phone is charging but not turning on, it could be a problem with an app or in your operating system. Run the phone in safe mode and this temporarily disables third-party apps so that you can charge the phone. You may be able to detect this when you are charging it in safe mode. If you do, uninstall the app.

If you can not detect which app it is, uninstall all of the apps that you have added most recently. Turn off the phone and turn it back on again and see if that makes a difference.

LG Phone Charging Slowly

Charging slowly is an LG phone not charging problem that you can also resolve quickly, unless the phone is aging out. If your phone is older, do not use it when it is charging.

Your battery may be the problem when the LG phone is charging slowly. Do not use the phone when it is charging if it has a slow battery. That will keep your battery optimized while it is charging, so that the phone is ready with a full charge.

Check your cables and wall adapters to make sure they are not loose or faulty. This could be why your device is not charging quickly. You may also want to charge your phone a different way or in a different location, such as, on your desktop or laptop using a USB cable and port.

When you have an LG phone not charging problem when it is plugged in, unplug it. Reboot the phone by holding the power button for ten seconds. Plug the phone back in and see if it will begin a charge.

When the LG phone won’t charged when plugged in, it could be a problem with either your cable or outlet, and not a problem with the phone at all. Disconnect the phone from the outlet and use a different cable. If this does not work, try performing a hard reset on the phone. Before you do that, backup every file that you have on your phone.

Turn the phone off. Press the Volume Down key and the Power key at the same time and release it when you see the LG logo. Then, press the power key again and hold it until you see the hard reset screen. You can cancel this process at any time by pressing either of the Volume keys, or the Power key.

LG Phone Battery Not Holding Charge

If you have tried all of these troubleshooting methods, you may have a battery problem. Sometimes, the LG phone not charging problem is connected directly to the battery. The battery may need to be replaced, or it may just need to be woken up a little bit if it is not holding a charge.

It could be something on your phone that is causing the battery drain or a battery not holding a charge. Google is a common culprit for this. Try uninstalling your Google suite or anything that uses Google. Reset your phone and this may take it to its default positions. Try charging your phone again to see if it keeps happening.

If you continue to have a problem, it could be updates that are sucking up your charge and preventing a charge to hold. Roll back any updates to a previous version on your phone and see if that makes a difference.
