By enabling Do Not Disturb, Samsung phone owners are able to still receive every notification that they would otherwise get, but are able to do so without the phone ever ringing, vibrating, or making a sound to alert them. When users are ready to check notifications, they simply turn on the screen of their device and are then able to see everything they have gotten while the phone has been on Do Not Disturb. If this is not working on your phone though, continue reading below.

If you have a Samsung phone, you are able to set Do Not Disturb either manually every time or set a schedule that will cause your phone to automatically turn on and turn off this feature at exact times during each day. This allows you to go about with whatever you are doing without ever being notified when calls, texts, or push notifications are coming in. If you have a Samsung phone and this feature is not working properly, read below to see what can be done.

If the Do Not Disturb feature isn’t working on your Samsung phone, be sure you are setting it up properly first. To enable Do Not Disturb, pull down from the top of the screen and click on the Do Not Disturb icon. You can also enable this through the Settings on your device.

Samsung Do Not Disturb Keeps Turning On

Do Not Disturb is great for those times when you need to sleep without being interrupted, when you need a bit of silence to focus, or when you simply want to take yourself away from your device without having to turn it completely off. However, it can be incredibly inconvenient if this feature is enabled and you are wanting to receive notifications normally. If you have a Samsung phone and Do Not Disturb keeps turning on, how can you get this issue to stop persisting?

If Do Not Disturb keeps turning on within your Samsung phone, turn the feature off within Settings. To do this, go to Settings and click on Do Not Disturb. Once there, you will go into the feature and disable the manual setup as well as the ‘Set Time’ option so it is completely disabled.

Samsung Do Not Disturb Light Blinking

When using Do Not Disturb on your Samsung phone, the point is to stop any sort of obvious notification sounds or vibrations from coming through which could cause interruption. However, when Do Not Disturb is on, some users still want to be able to briefly see when a notification comes in, which is when they might see a light blink. If you have a Samsung phone and you see a light blinking when Do Not Disturb is enabled, read below to see what it means.

If you see a blinking light when Do Not Disturb is enabled on your Samsung TV, this is simply a small visual cue that a notification has come in. If you want to disable this feature, go into your Settings and click on Do Not Disturb then disable the light notification from within there.

Samsung Do Not Disturb Schedule Not Working

As briefly noted earlier, there are two ways in which Samsung phone users can use the Do Not Disturb feature on their devices: you can either manually enable the feature every time you want to use it or you can create a Do Not Disturb schedule which automatically turns on the feature at certain times of the day on particular days of the week. If you go to enable Do Not Disturb and use the schedule feature but it is not working, read on to see what might be the problem.

If your Samsung Do Not Disturb schedule isn’t working, be sure that it has been enabled within your Settings. After confirming this, check that your phone has been set to the right time zone and that all other devices that are synced to your phone are running on the same schedule.

If you have multiple devices connected to your Samsung phone, it is also important to check that all are updated with the newest software, especially if they are other Samsung products. If updates are lagging or one device has received an update but the other has not, this can cause your Do Not Disturb schedule to get out of sync which can either cause problematic timing or will cause the feature to stop working altogether.

Samsung Do Not Disturb Calls Still Come Through

When you have your Samsung phone on Do Not Disturb, this means that your phone should practically act like it is off, without having to completely shut it down. This allows individuals to be unbothered by notifications without having to wait for their phones to reboot and receive notifications after being turned off. Though, if you are using this feature and calls are still coming through with regular notification processes, how do you get this issue to stop?

If calls are still coming through on your Samsung phone when Do Not Disturb is enabled, it could be that you have selected these callers as favorites, which will be pushed through. Deselect any numbers you do not wish to come through and calls will silence when using this feature.

Samsung Do Not Disturb Still Vibrates

You may not be getting calls when Do Not Disturb is enabled, but just as interruptive is the problem of your Samsung phone still vibrating when a notification comes through. If you have Do Not Disturb enabled, you should not be able to hear a single sound from your phone unless you have set it up previously to accommodate certain callers or text threads. If you do not want your phone to vibrate but it continues to do so when in Do Not Disturb mode, read on.

If your Samsung phone still vibrates when Do Not Disturb is on, check to make sure that none of the contacts coming through have been chosen as a priority contact and that no threads have been made a priority either. If they have, deselect those and the vibration will stop once completed.

If you know that you don’t have any apps or contacts made as exceptions to get through when your Samsung phone is on Do Not Disturb, you may need to completely disable the phone’s ability to vibrate while this feature is in use. To do this, go to ‘Sounds and Vibrations’ on your device and disable its ability to vibrate. When Do Not Disturb is not on, you can enable the ability to vibrate once again so that you can receive more discrete notifications.

Samsung Do Not Disturb App Exceptions

Just as you can allow exceptions with the contacts, texts, and text threads when using Do Not Disturb, you can also do the same with apps. This means that when a notification comes through on a specific app you always want to be notified by, you will immediately be able to hear or feel the alert come in. To find out how to allow app exceptions when using Do Not Disturb on your Samsung phone, read below to find the step-by-step guide to do so.

To enable app exceptions on your Samsung phone when using the Do Not Disturb feature, press and hold down the Do Not Disturb icon from the drop down menu and go over to ‘Exceptions.’ Once there, you will be able to enable certain apps to push through when using the feature.

There are certainly times when the Do Not Disturb feature comes in handy or is even considered essential. However, there are times when this feature is not needed and can become incredibly burdensome when turned on so that all notifications are missed when they are needed to be seen. If you have a Samsung phone and you are not able to turn off the Do Not Disturb feature on your device, read below to see how to get the feature off easily.

If Do Not Disturb isn’t turning off on your Samsung phone, press the volume button on your device and bring it all the way down to zero. Go into Do Not Disturb within Settings and once the volume is down select ‘End Now.’ This should disable the feature and you can then turn the volume back up.

If you complete these steps but Do Not Disturb is still not turning off on your Samsung phone, it could be that the device simply needs to be turned off and back on to resolve any small issues that are causing the holdup. To do this, turn your Samsung phone off and allow it to completely shut down before turning it back on again. Once it is on, see if Do Not Disturb is still enabled and if it is not, your issue has been resolved.

It can be rather intimidating to enable a feature that is new to you and seems a bit foreign. It almost sounds impossible: to have your phone on but never hear a sound from it, no matter how many different notifications you may be receiving. You may be worried that people won’t get through who need to when it comes to calls, and therefore, if you are worried about what happens with calls when using this feature, you can read below to find out exactly.

When someone calls your Samsung phone while having Do Not Disturb enabled, the call still goes through as normal, you simply never hear, feel, or see the notification on your device. Once you check the screen, you will be able to see that a call was missed and a call back can be made.

If you are worried about missing important people when your phone is on Do Not Disturb, you can allow them to get through with a few adjustments on your device. For those contacts that are most important no matter what, can make an exception for their calls to come through. To do this, refer back to the previous section titled “Samsung Do Not Disturb App Exceptions’ where you can find the process to add favorites to your ‘push through’ list on your device.

If the Do Not Disturb feature isn’t working on your Samsung device, be sure that you have all contact favorites deselected so that no calls will come through, go through the ‘Exceptions’ section to allow for particular apps to be able to notify, and turn your phone off and back on.
