Samsung TV Google Home Not Working

With smart speakers making their way into homes everywhere, conventional stereo systems are falling behind, making room for speakers capable of much more than controlling the volume. If you have Google Home connected to your Samsung TV, what do you do when it stops working?

A frequent issue with Samsung TV not responding to Google Home is due to the devices not being on the same Wi-Fi network. Ensure both your Google Home and Samsung TV are connected to the same network for proper communication and control.

Another possible reason for this problem is outdated software on the Samsung TV. Smart TVs regularly receive updates to improve performance and compatibility with other devices. If your TV’s software is outdated, it may not properly communicate with Google Home. Check for any available updates for your Samsung TV and install them to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

Google Home allows Samsung TV owners to control their TV by accessing a wide variety of entertainment, ask questions that are revealed directly on their TV screens, and gives users the ability to manage other smart devices in their home. This technology is a great feature for those wanting to integrate their smart home with their Samsung TV, but when Google Home stops working, what can you do? Read below to find a solution to your Google Home issues.

Samsung TV Google Home Not Working

Google Home is a smart speaker that is voice activated, which allows users to control the device as well as implement commands through the simple use of outspoken words. When it comes to using Google Home with your Samsung TV, the ease of Google Home surpasses the convenience that even remotes provide by allowing individuals to say what they want, from wherever they are. What, then, do you do if Google home is not working?

If Google Home is not working with your Samsung TV, turn off Google Home and turn it back on. This may seem like a simple fix, but if there are any minor issues with Google home, turning it off and on can allow for a brief reset that will rid the device of issues interfering with your Samsung TV.

If Google Home is still not working on your Samsung TV, it may be helpful to check and see if there are any available software updates within your TV. To do this, select ‘Settings’ from within your TV > ‘Support’ > ‘Software Update’ > ‘Update Now.’ Once you have selected ‘Update Now’ any available updates will automatically begin to download and install.

When the invention of the remote hit homes around the world, life as people knew it was changed from having to get up to control their TV, to being able to perform the same actions from the comfort of their couch. Even more progressive than the remote though, is Google HOme and its ability to turn on your Samsung TV with a simple voice command. If you have Google Home but your Samsung TV will not turn on through the device, what can you do?

If your Samsung TV is not turning on with Google Home, it may be helpful to power cycle the device. To do this, unplug Google Home directly from its power source and allow it to sit for one minute. Once the time has passed, plug it back in, turn it on, and try voice activation once again.

If a power cycle does not cause Google Home to connect to your Samsung TV, it may be that you need to change the HDMI port in which Google Home is currently plugged into. Choose another port on the back of your TV and connect Google Home back to your Samsung TV, ensuring that the setup process has been done properly. Once this is complete, try to activate the device once again by using a voice command to turn on your TV.

If you would like to try a few more troubleshooting methods before implementing a resync between your Samsung TV and Google Home, try checking to see if you also have Google Voice assistant connected to the right SmartThings location on your mobile phone. If this is confirmed, check to make sure that Google Home is not being used in another location, which can cause the device to operate with another device rather than your Samsung TV.
