People around the world enjoy the crisp, clean sound that comes out of their Visio soundbar. Unfortunately, there are issues that occur from time to time but the fix is often easy to do.
When your Visio soundbar is not producing sound, you should unplug it and leave it unplugged for 60 seconds. Hold the power button on the soundbar for five seconds before reconnecting the power. This will correct the issue.
Although a Visio soundbar is a relatively simple device, there are problems that can occur that go much deeper than an easy reset. Let’s consider some of them below that you can try when the soundbar is not operating as expected.

Is the soundbar up and running? This can be determined if there are any lights on the soundbar itself. If not, you will need to check the power.
The first place to check is the breaker box. If a breaker is tripped it will need to be reset.

Try plugging the soundbar directly into the receptacle on the wall. If that doesn’t work, test the receptacle by plugging in a lamp or another electronic device.
You can also inspect the power cord to the soundbar. If it is cut or has any other type of visual damage, it should be replaced. Make sure that the plug is not burnt.

At times, we may collect so many remote controls that the electronic devices become confused. Gather all of the remote controls and take the batteries out of all of them except for the one that operates the Visio soundbar.
You can also check the soundbar directly. Although the remote control may not work the sound, the buttons on the soundbar may work just fine. If that is the case, you need a new remote.
TV Volume Level
Some people will always adjust the volume using the soundbar remote control. Others will adjust the volume using the TV remote.
Make sure that the TV volume is set above zero. It is best if you have the TV volume set to max and adjust the volume on the soundbar. Do not adjust the volume on the TV directly.
It may sound obvious, but not typically until you hear it said. Is the TV muted? Is the soundbar muted? This will definitely affect the sound coming out of the soundbar.
Both cable and satellite boxes sometimes have volume controls. Make sure that they are set at maximum or close to it.
Check all of the cables and make sure that they aren’t damaged or don’t need to be upgraded. Make sure that they are plugged into audio out and not input.
Check with Different Device
It is always a good idea to check the soundbar with a different device before going too far and contacting tech support. Plug the device into another TV and see if it works. If it is Bluetooth enabled, try to play music through your phone.
Check the TV Volume Directly
Unplug the soundbar and try listening to the show on the TV directly. It may not be a problem with the soundbar.
As a last-ditch effort, try resetting the soundbar using a factory reset. The way to do this is different for each soundbar, so you should check the manual or look online for the instructions.
Vizio Soundbar No Sound Bluetooth
Although most people will purchase a Visio soundbar to connect to their television, it is also very convenient to use as a speaker for playing music. You can connect any Bluetooth-enabled device to your Visio soundbar, but it’s not always as easy as it seems.
First of all, it’s important to know that you cannot always pair a Bluetooth-enabled speaker to the soundbar. In order for it to operate properly, you can connect the soundbar to the audio out port of the TV. Most Visio soundbars operate by connecting from an exterior device, such as a tablet or phone.
Bluetooth is very convenient but it also has some limitations. Generally speaking, you should be within 33 feet of the device if you want Bluetooth to operate. Being too far away will cause it to disconnect.
In addition, if there are any obstacles between you and the soundbar, it may block the signal and keep it from getting a good connection.
If you are within a few feet of the device and it still isn’t working, you can try reconnecting. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the soundbar to enter pairing mode. You can then try to reconnect with your phone or another Bluetooth device.
At times, you may need to remove some of the devices on your phone before connecting with the Visio soundbar. This can be inconvenient, but it may be necessary to get things running again.

Vizio Soundbar No Sound from Subwoofer

For the most part, when you plug in the soundbar and subwoofer, they will pair automatically. It is not typically necessary for you to do anything in order to make this happen.
If you are experiencing problems, then consider the following to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Make sure that both the Visio soundbar and the subwoofer are plugged in and turned on.
The first time that you pair the two devices, they should only be about a foot apart from each other. This will ensure that it doesn’t automatically connect to another device.
Both the soundbar and subwoofer should be put in pairing mode. This typically involves holding in the Bluetooth button on the device until the blue light starts flashing.

If it doesn’t seem to pair properly, you should unplug both devices, wait 60 seconds, and plug them back in again.

Vizio Soundbar No Sound HDMI ARC
If you’re plugging into HDMI ARC but you are not getting any sound, there may be a few things to consider.
First of all, you have to be set on the proper device. You may have multiple HDMI inputs on the TV and if it is on the wrong input, it will not work.
The input should be marked ARC as well. Make sure that you are connecting to the proper input on the TV as well as the proper port on the soundbar.

At times, the cable may go bad and need to be replaced. You should also ensure that you are using a new cable that is upgraded to the latest standards.

Vizio Soundbar No Sound Optical
If you are using an optical cable but still not getting any sound out of your Visio soundbar, check the following:
Cable – Visually inspect the cable to see if it has any visual damage. Replace the cable if it is damaged.
Soundbar Settings – Check the settings on the soundbar. You may need to go into the settings and change the input.
Try HDMI – If the soundbar is not responding to an optical cable, try using an HDMI cable.

If you are trying to connect your Visio soundbar with a subwoofer or another satellite speaker, it is usually a hands-off setup. They will pair without any interaction on your part when they are plugged in for the first time.
One of the things you can check is if you can connect to the satellite speakers with another device. Make sure that you remove the satellite speaker from your phone or another device after you have checked it.
When you pair the satellite speakers with the soundbar, they should only be a foot apart from each other. You can then move them apart further after they pair successfully. Keep them within 33 feet of each other.
If all else fails, unplug everything and wait 60 seconds before plugging it back in again. Try again for a longer amount of time if necessary.
When your Visio soundbar is not making any noise, you should unplug it and hold down the power button for five seconds. After reconnecting the power by plugging in the cable, you should be able to turn on the soundbar and listen to it again.
