Samsung Phone Won’t Connect to Computer/Monitor/Printer

Samsung Electronics is based in South Korea and is well known as the largest producer of electronics for consumers in the world. Samsung phones run the gamut from very affordable phones to expensive top of the line smartphones. If you have spent your hard-earned money on a Samsung phone, you expect it to be reliable and most of all functional. This is why it is especially upsetting to have your Samsung phone not connecting to your computer, monitor or printer.  Read on to learn about some simple and commonsense troubleshooting steps you can take to quickly figure out what is causing this problem and how to fix it.

If your Samsung Phone won’t connect to your computer/monitor or printer, first check your phone to make sure there is no interference from any other devices such as a microwave. You can also make sure that the way you are holding your Samsung phone is not somehow affecting connectivity.

Samsung Phone Won’t Connect to PC/Laptop/Windows 10

If your Samsung phone won’t connect to your PC or Laptop or Windows 10, it is no time to panic. Oftentimes, rebooting your Samsung phone can result in your being able to reconnect to all your computers and laptops.

If your Samsung phone won’t connect to your computer or monitor or printer and won’t connect to your PC or Laptop or Windows 10, reboot your phone. If your phone does have a power key, press down and hold on the Power Key. Now, power off and then wait thirty seconds and then power on the phone.

If your Samsung phone does not have a power key, swipe down on the phone’s screen for a short distance in order to access the Quick Settings Panel. Then, go ahead and press on Power and then tap on Restart. Then, press on restart again.   

Samsung Phone Won’t Connect to Mac

It may be more difficult than you might think to connect your Samsung phone to your Mac. Many times, if you just try to use a USB cable to connect the two, you will find that your Mac will fail to recognize your Samsung phone. However, there are several common fixes that will allow your Mac to be compatible with your Samsung phone.

If your Samsung phone won’t connect to your computer or monitor or printer and won’t connect to your Mac, first go ahead and check the USB cable to determine if there is any damage to it or if it is just faulty. If so, you will need to replace it.

You can also try to debug your Samsung phone using the Android Debugging Mode. In order to start the debugging process, go to Settings on your Samsung phone. Then go to Applications and then to Development and then to USB Debugging.

Then be sure that USB Debugging is enabled. You should now be able to connect from your Mac computer to your Samsung phone. You can also try to use your Samsung Smart Switch to allow your Mac to recognize your Samsung phone.

Samsung Phone Won’t Connect to Computer With USB

If your Samsung Phone won’t connect to your computer with a USB, there are several likely causes of this problem.  Careful troubleshooting can indicate whether this issue is due to a USB cable problem or an issue with connectivity.

If your Samsung Phone won’t connect to your computer, monitor or printer and won’t connect with your USB, first evaluate your USB cable to make sure that it has fast enough connectivity or is indeed a data cable. You can also update your MTP USB drivers on your computer.

This will allow you to enable the MTP Mode on your Samsung phone.  

Samsung Phone Won’t Connect to Printer

If your Samsung Phone won’t connect to your printer and you have important documents to print, it is annoying and frustrating. Usually, this problem is due to a problem with your Wi-Fi Connections. Thankfully, you can frequently settle this connectivity problem quickly and efficiently.

If your Samsung Phone won’t connect to your computer, monitor or printer, and won’t connect to your printer, make sure that your Wi-Fi connection is turned on.  Open Settings and then tap on Connections and then on Wi-Fi. Turn on Wi-Fi and then check your phone’s connection to your printer.

At this point, if you see your Wi-Fi network, go ahead and select it, enter your password and then tap on Connect. Then, make sure to verify the setting either on your Access point or your Router. Now, reset your AP or Router and confirm that they are transmitting the network’s SSID.

Samsung Phone Won’t Connect to Monitor/Projector

It is great to use your Samsung phone for everything including connecting to monitors or projectors. But when something goes wrong and you have a deadline to meet, it can be maddening. Check out the following troubleshooting tips to try to resolve this problem.

If your Samsung phone won’t connect to either your computer, monitor or printer and won’t connect to your monitor or projector, use Google Chromecast. In order to do this, make sure that your projector supports an HDMI connection.

Google Chromecast plugs directly into an HDMI port and then connects to your Wi-Fi network. This then allows for connection to many different apps through the Android TV Operating System. After you plug it into the HDMI port, you will then be able to stream through your wireless network and see the screen of your Samsung android phone displayed through your projector.

Also, don’t forget to disable any power-saving functions on your Samsung phone, since this can distort your streaming quality.

Now, download the Google Home App from the Google Play Store and then open the Home App.   Now, click on Accounts and then on Mirror Device. Check to see if you are getting a message indicating that your Samsung phone is not optimized for casting. Then tap on OK.

Now click on Cast Screen/Audio and then select your Chromecast in order to connect to it appropriately.

Once you have achieved a proper connection, you should be able to see your Projector streaming on your screen via your Chromecast.

If you cannot connect by a wireless connection, try connecting your Samsung phone to your projector using an HDMI Cable.
